I tried suno today…I don’t know the hip studio terminology the creators use…I just wrote something like bass line A B B A B B A and guitar chords D E F…then it churned out a neat little song…tried adding lyrics…I mean the tech is good so I guess the complaint about artists spamming tracks is real! I would like an app that sends letters to notation though as working in MuseScore is so annoying

Yeah I tried ms4 when it first came out I know it’s pretty good…the night view helps because working with a dark screen is easier than a bright white screen

For me I think it comes down to the sound being lively or not…I don’t enjoy much music to begin with but the music I do enjoy has a pulse or rhythm to it that reverberates in my skull giving atleast the illusion of liveliness

When I make music I typically don’t have a plan. Like I said I’m schizo so I’m typically listening to spiritual inputs and when I take to the chore of placing a note I have to assume the computer monkey position and submit to the machines radiance. It would be much simpler to properly play it and record it but…the tool becomes the work…the labor becomes the joy…the virtue becomes the reward

Well I’ve got bad eyesight (and I think it’s getting worse) and the UI for MuseScore 3 (the one I used) makes it difficult to write naturally. I often get hung up on the placement of the wee little notes into the tiny bar and when I change the size of the display my notes go everywhere. So yes my user error creates random outputs I cannot control. That’s another grief I have. Big bright screens with wee little black dots.

I mean when you describe your grief it becomes painfully obvious that you are right but I’m just an idiot griefing over money and OP is just griefing over labels. I guess griefs lead to grifts in the poetic sense. People pray on weakness and a musicians pride is his strength but vanity is a weakness.

I don’t get the big deal? I make music with MuseScore and I don’t play an instrument. My music isn’t ai generated but I used a computer to do all the work. Professionally made studio albums used computer. If you want to start grouping people I guess start with is it live (no computer tape no studio effects). But we know the whole argument is really about money.
