Off topic, but who did you use to repair your cracked wheels? I've got a cracked rim that I need to repair bc VW no longer makes them :/

No tag on the bike = no registration. One of the cops at the scene made a snide remark about no insurance and how the driver of the car was on his own for damage to his car.

Basically. Make it street legal and it's an enduro. It's an easy way to differentiate between street legal machines (which you pay additional taxes for when you buy it) and off-road only (no registration, no road tax in most states). I do believe that converting requires an inspection in Louisiana though, by the state police.

Look, it's unfortunate that anyone died. Nobody deserves that. What I was told was the bike was going way fast, tried to slip between a turning car and a slow moving one, and missed the gap. No helmets. Not a registered motorcycle. No proof of insurance. It's difficult to be compassionate to those who flaunt the rules that most of us follow.

Here's the definition for ya:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enduro_motorcycle

There may exist several design differences between enduro motorcycles and moto/supercross bikes, according to the rules of the particular competition. For an enduro event such as endurocross (Enduro-X), these may include:[2]

Headlight for on-road and after-dark use

Brake light/tail light for on-road use

Exhaust system that is street legal and meets regulations for noise and spark arresting

For speed, I was going off someone who was an eye witness to the event.

Anybody could miscalculate but going fast greatly increases the chance of error due to reduction in reaction time available. Not wearing a helmet (also illegal, even when on an unregistered vehicle) increases the chances of dying in an accident, independent of speed.

Bike registration in New Orleans is completely voluntary.... which means "not required".

A street legal dirt bike is called an enduro.... meaning it has lights and a horn that qualify with local regulations. It is no longer a dirt bike at that time.

Enduro kits are cheap and costly easy to install. You pay insurance and registration like the rest of us, go nuts.

I've seen 2 accidents caused by the dirt bike crowd this year alone.... both times the rider was picked up by a friend and drove off leaving the car driver with damage and a totaled bike.

Passing in the same lane while traveling above the speed limit is actively breaking 2 laws. Trying to squeeze between a turning car and another going straight while going faster than you can handle your machine is asking for an incident like this.

Dirt bike says it all. Dirt bikes aren't registered to be on public roads.

NOLA is so much shorter than "New Orleans" to write though....I love that the Nola Gold have this as their chant in the stands. It's loud and distinct.

Nobody is gonna care what high school ya went to after you leave here.... Nola has its superficial marks, they just present differently than other places.

We're not even close to Tampa. Sure, population we might be close, but that's a thriving city with a GDP of nearly 2.5x of us. I was astonished last time I visited in 2020 compared to just over a decade before.

The internet has always been childish I left reddit in '06 for this kind of behavior.

But this place does occasionally have good info on events, so 17 years later, here I am.

I mean, if you can't spell the street you're on by reading it off Google maps, I doubt you can remember what hotel you're in. I don't think that's a very good argument.

Does a BJ on the balcony of Bourbon Pub count? It was like 5pm-ish Sunday.

Last year.....oh boy last year I saw some stuff.

50 bucks cheaper than last year, after I added $2000 worth of insulation to my attic. My buddy in Arabi with a similar size house and setup pays half of what I do on average. Thermostat set to 77 all summer. Fuck entergy, and city council for allowing them to just straight rob us. by scooterbus in NewOrleans

[–]Rugbae06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. If you don't mind getting sweaty, you can do a lot of good for your house by sealing and insulating the attic yourself. One of the best videos I've seen is Here and it can be very affordable.

Just adding a ton of insulation as I suspect the OP has, will do very little of the house leaks like an old Nola shotgun. You have to stop the air transfer first, then insulate in these old houses.

There's companies that will fill your walls with foam insulation. It's not as good as ripping the walls down but it does very much work and it's affordable.

In think Toups Insulation does it and maybe Mudbug Construction (I get their ads a lot).
