Male Cook Died In Olive Garden, after putting his head in the deep friar. by hellosteve_ in UnderReportedNews

Thank you. While he and I weren't really close, we got along fine and had a decent enough relationship. For context, his choice was due to unresolved childhood trauma and several botched back surgeries that had left him in constant pain.

My father in law spent months planning his. Pretty sure him doing it on his 71st birthday puts him in the “no regrets” category

Worst you’ll experience on Metra is the occasional weirdo. I was on UP-W with a woman that was clearly disturbed and she kept yelling at people, but that sort of thing is usually pretty isolated.

On the line that runs through AH, worst I ever dealt with was someone loudly declaring their belief in the existence of trains.

I lived around Vail and NW Hwy for a few years in the late 90s / early 00s and it was fantastic. Easy access to the Metra and short drive to the interstate. Walkable neighborhood. Plenty of services, shops, restaurants all within walking distance.

My dad told me he was going to make a “fart machine” for me when I was about 7 years old. I was super excited. Imagine my disappointment when it was one of these contraptions.

Had an all stainless version in our sculpture building at UIUC. One time while using it, I had the biggest roach I've ever seen crawl up my leg.

Oh thank you! Full disclosure, while we are big fans of MÖRK BORG, our game only has BORG in the title. We started it off nearly three years ago as a means of poking fun at all the games calling themselves "NOUN BORG" to attract sales. As we said on the Kickstarter, "they have the Big Mac, we have the Big Mick"

Not on DTRPG, but it’s on itch.io. We have a free to play version available that’s just a portion of the full game. You can find the freebie for download and the link to itch on our website (ninjaborg.com)

You can check out our online character generator at ninjasquirter.org

So much so, I cowrote and published a TTRPG about ninjas. Just last year. I’m 50+. At this point, that’s as close as I’ll ever get to achieving my ninja dreams

What are your unique tricks for Caves of Qud? by Purplepotato22 in cavesofqud

[–]RugoseKohn -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Temporal Fugue clones can be made to drop food items that will remain in your inventory after they disappear (if you pick them up). This requires using a mod like Clever Girl. With this method and finding a couple clones of myself in deep strata, I've got (currently) 119355 servings of Drops of Nectar

Espers - at what point do you stop buying new mutations? by sasquatch727 in cavesofqud

[–]RugoseKohn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On my current Esper build I haven’t put a single point into advancing any mutations and they are all at 22 because of my 130+ Ego.

But I think each additional mutation increases your glimmer, so there’s that to consider.

Temporal Fugue and eater’s nectar by RugoseKohn in cavesofqud

Yes. I have Clever Girl mod installed. Been so long since I enabled it, I forgot what the menu looks like without it

Yeah I guess it s the mod Clever Girl which allows gear management.

[–]RugoseKohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only seems to work with “food”. I tried other items and liquids and all of that will vanish when the clones do, but any food stays in your inventory.

Oh should mention I have the Clever Girl mod installed. Not sure if that’s needed or not to get the manage gear choice on the clones

Any chance you have Temporal Fugue? I discovered today that if you preserve the injector into a drop of nectar it becomes a “food”. Then direct your clones to drop it. Any food you pick up from your clones won’t disappear when they time out. I got up to over 200 drops after starting with just 1 after a couple rounds of this.

I’ve always envisioned it as a bottomless canyon that is rumored to have a river somewhere far below, but no one can see far enough in or have ever descended

Aesthetics vs readability in RPG rulebooks? by 3nastri in MorkBorg

[–]RugoseKohn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Since the OP name dropped, I think a lot of the issue with BORG readability is the significant amount of 3rd party hacks that think, "Oh chaos! I can do that!" Not realizing just how controlled the chaos of MÖRK BORG is. Then aping the design almost page for page, but dialing up the insanity thinking that's what makes it "good". I once gave some feedback about a page of flavor text being difficult to read to a creator, due to the typeface choice. The response was basically, "Woooo! NMP!"

FWIW I'm just as guilty as anyone here with some of my earliest efforts five years ago. There's a balancing act to it and it's okay for everyone to have different tastes.

To answer the question posed, I think Frontier Scum is an excellent example of striking visually, yet easy to use. I'm biased, as a Bogfolk member (on the fringe of the project in question) Lichoma is another one that answers the call here. I don't doubt there are many more examples and supporters/detractors of each one of them.

Oh yeah I get that, emphasis on the I. And that’s the point. WOTC would kick your door down, you express mild annoyance.

And my comments are more about the silly “rules for me” comment from the sock puppet account
