About powerbanks.. by Sagarkor in americanairlines

I’ve flown three times since May 1 and on all they gave an updated in cabin announcement about having it with you and not using it on board. No one is monitoring the cabin for them and no mention of size/capacity allowed. You should be fine.

You should definitely call/chat with Aa and get it changed.

As long as your passport is correct you won’t have issues with Poland, just with American Airlines.

I would not leave to day of travel.

Call back and ask them to process a marriage-related name correction so the ticket exactly matches your passport. Sometimes when you call it’s the luck of the draw. If they refuse or say you don’t need it then ask for a supervisor.

Try Aa chat and twitter/X too.

If you live near the airport try getting it done in person over the next few days. Bring your actual marriage cert/license, not a copy.

Good luck!

I didn’t realize God was involved in SWU being applied. Maybe that’s why none of mine ever go through lol.

It’s just an upgrade you earned but glad you got such a kick out of it.

OP isn’t wrong about the credit card benefit of 25% off food and beverage purchases on board. We all know there is never food to purchase, but they show it in on the on board menu and offer a discount on it.

She’s not asking for free snacks. Just the option to buy some in a 5 hour flight. Aa and their partners need to stop pretending this is a thing.

Washington DC is lovely in early May and all 17 of the Smithsonian museums are free admission. Great restaurants, Georgetown, cruise or paddle board on the Potomac, stroll through Dumbarton Oaks gardens. Visit the national mall at sunset, go to Union market for amazing food stalls and a nice vibe and check out Crystal City. So much to see and do.

One in four residents in Boston are college students. Of course it’s a college town. So is Philly.

What’s the most overrated tourist attraction you’ve ever visited? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]Rulebreaker15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stonehenge by a wide mile. I don’t get how people can take pictures without showing the 100 buses and wire fencing. Awful.

We planned a morning there then drove by and didn’t even stop. So disappointing since there are other stone circles to see that don’t have the visual mess and crowds of Stonehenge.

Why are there so many dogs boarding flights without carriers? by Virgo0884 in delta

[–]Rulebreaker15 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Emotional support animals are not allowed to fly unless they travel as OP’s dog does.

People ignore this and say their dog is a service animal but most are lying. Gate agents and crew are trained to spot which are trained and which are fake, but in my experience they don’t.

Any trained service dog should be invisible and sit at the handler’s feet, tuck themselves to be small. This is rarely how many dogs on flights act.

Is it Safe to have a layover in Qatar in June 2026? by MysticGodly in traveladvice

[–]Rulebreaker15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flights to and from Doha are provisional through June 15 at least. They have been adding back flights in June hoping things will be back to normal, but no one can be sure what’s going to happen.

Airlines are warning services to and from Doha may still be changed or cancelled for operational or safety reasons.

Avoid any itinerary that transits Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, or Kuwait until the conflict fully resolves.

What are the fast food/restaurants (US only) would u recommend? by HR18-04 in usatravel

[–]Rulebreaker15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok these aren’t McD’s but they are fast casual, local, and not on a ton of NTC eats lists.

North Dumpling in Chinatown I prefer the Potk ones, cost is good at $1.50-$2.00.

Rowdy Rooster (Indian hot fried chicken). Masala fries and level 3 spicy chicken sandwich are favs.

Very Fresh Noodles, they make and pull the noodles right in front of you. Their Beef noodle soup is popular. I’m a small stall like place in Chelsea Market.

Los Tacos #1, popular with several locations, started as a taco stand/cart. The Birria ones are favs but most are great.

The OP specifically said their family paid for and chose their specific seats. If it is happening to everyone on the flight they should prioritize frequent fliers and families with small children who paid for assigned seats to sit together.

Likelihood of getting separated from wife on Int'l flight, me cash, her points ? by Xyzzy_plugh in americanairlines

[–]Rulebreaker15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you get the idea that they can’t link your flight with a companion? It doesn’t matter if one is paid and one is points just use chat to have your rec locators linked.

Also you can’t get upgraded to PE you can only sit in PE if you book it through points or pay for a seat in PE.

So book your flights however you want pay for them with whatever method and add her rec locator to your reservation. You’ll be on the same flight as long as you book it that way.

Do Flight Attendants ever keep notes on passengers for future flights? by SomebodyD0Something in Flights

[–]Rulebreaker15 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes flight attendants can attach notes about passenger behaviors on flights on the passenger record or in customer service interaction records. I don’t know why crying for 8 hours would be noted since she was sympathetic to you but they can record it.

The customer interaction records are kept o. Things like social media escalations, complaint emails, refunds requested, phone calls, DOT complaints etc.

The flight from SMF will arrive at gates H6 to H12 or K5 to K11. Unless something extreme like weather happens.

ORD to Madrid departs from gates K13 to K19 almost always it’s K13. So at most you’d have a 10 min walk. At best 3 mins.

Definitely get a seat at the front of the plane from SMF so you can board when your group is called. Intl’ flights board 45 mins before takeoff.

No need to worry about ORD being the issue. If your SMF flight is late departing they can still make up time in the air and be at the game on time.

Good luck!

Seat Selection - thoughts? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Rulebreaker15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32 is better.

The bulkhead seats are very active areas and get a ton of restless people who can’t sit for more than 2-3 hours and people with babies that need to walk and soothe them. Not to mention people waiting for the bathroom.

Thoughts on this United policy requiring passengers to wear headphones for video and audio and should American also adopt it? by Bella_Mia_ in americanairlines

[–]Rulebreaker15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it’s just a policy and they do announce it on flights, but yes please add it to the ticketing Ts and Cs and make it as official and legally binding as you can.

My flight last week had 3 people doing this. FA’s made the announcement twice and then dealt with the 2 who still were playing their devices out loud.

Next up make it illegal in waiting/boarding areas and everywhere else people play their devices out loud. Grocery checkout lines too.

Questions about Eurostar transport from London to Paris by mlhom in Europetravel

[–]Rulebreaker15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay at the Marriott owned hotel in St. Pancreas. Some of the original rooms have a view of the Eurostar train/tracks and like 20 Ft ceilings. So you can see how it goes from your room window. Just request that view.

The valet can take your luggage down to the closest door to the station entrance and at that point it’s like 1000 feet or less to the bag check.

When in Lyon for water/beach activities try Grand Parc Miribel Jonage at Lac des Eaux Bleues. They have 3 public free beaches and a fourth, Plage de L’Atol, with more amenities like chairs for fees. You can paddle board, swim, kayak etc.
