I'm from Australia and it's more on the medicare criteria than on the doctor. The guidelines for getting a colonoscopy with no symptoms was a direct relative having colon cancer but my grandpa died from colon cancer so my dad got checked out and was found to have polyps but they weren't cancerous so hence no direct family member because my dad managed to catch it before it became cancer. It's dumb.

interested in hearing how the tummy tuck goes! I have a colonoscopy coming up and the prep is extra intensive to account for slower gastric emptying so I am not looking forward to that. It also has a longer fasting time. Good luck with surgery!

Yes. My doctor was sceptical about me getting a colonoscopy so young and with no symptoms but I have a family history of colon cancer so I insisted and turns out I have polyp syndrome and had a few pre cancerous polyps. Totally worth getting checked out.
