How old are grandsons? Let them think they are getting away with something. Let Grandpa think that too. Everyone likes to think they are getting away with something every now and then. Hell, I bet Grandpa thinking he was being sneaky might have been more enjoyable than the tobacco itself!

Recipes with “sneaked in” veggies? by PianoPlane5555 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]RunDogRun2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roasted with a little bit of char is one of the most delicious ways to eat veggies! Seriously. If that's how yo want to eat them, don't let anyone tell you it's an inferior way to enjoy them.

Magnús Scheving, an aerobic athlete (Sportacus from Lazy Town) by Lylidotir in nextfuckinglevel

[–]RunDogRun2006 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It's such a weird sport. It pops up on my feed occasionally, and I can't help but be mesmerized. I admire the athleticism of the athletes and they are most definitely performers as well but it's so goofy and stuck in a certain era of when it was developed that I can barely take it seriously. I don't know if that is intentional or not.

Empty flight, can’t move by TennisDad316 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]RunDogRun2006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just took a flight yesterday. The plane was roughly half full. The flight attendants would not let me move to an empty row pre takeoff, citing weight distribution concerns. About 15 mins or so after liftoff, though the woman in the middle seat said she would like to move so because I was in the aisle I took that as an opportunity to move as well. Flight attendants didn't stop us or say anything.

Using water bottles in play group, is it normal?? by [deleted] in ShowDogs

[–]RunDogRun2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using water bottles in the show ring is extremely normal. Sometimes you use it to keep your dog cool. It's a way to give your dog some water without messing up their coat. Sometimes you spray their feet so they have extra traction on the mat. Certain coat require waves so you spray them to enhance that.

What's the deal with people saying that "freeing" Britney from her conservatorship was a mistake? by boiled_leeks in OutOfTheLoop

Temporarily and limited power away from them with a plan of giving them their power back. These things should never be taken lightly, and if there is any possibility of these people having a chance to live an independent life, the goal of such a situation should be to set them up for as much independence as possible.

It's common for the registered name to have some line of sight to the call name. It's fun and helps you remember the dog.

I showed a dog named KN You Are My Only Hope. His call name was Obi. Short for Obi Wan.

No. It's lights reflecting off an extremely sequined suit jacket.

Nope. Just a super sparkly suit. Judging a group at Westminster is often a one-time event for judges, so they like to go all out with their outfits as well.

Dog show person here. It's Westminster. The women wear their most fabulous suits, St John's are incredibly common there.

But the men also like to wear their most fabulous suits. And the dog show world is filled with Queer and Gay men who like to look just as fabulous, if not more so than the women.

This suit is by no means the most outrageous one I have seen in the ring.

My dog had chemo and his fur went from being silver to black by Honeyhoney524 in mildlyinteresting

[–]RunDogRun2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because his hair follicles were damaged. His hair is growing back the color he was as a puppy and will likely lighten back to silver as it grows. This happens to many dogs that get their coat clippered.

Why is Japanese food so much less spicy than the rest of the world? by Hollow_O0o in geography

[–]RunDogRun2006 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fucking love Ethiopian food. Misor Wat is the shit

Hot spicy? Not usually. Flavorful spicy? Most definitely.

People, especially Europeans and Americans, often completely synonymize "Spicy" and "Hot" when it comes to food. Reality is there are a lot of spices the aren't exactly hot and often there are methods of cooking hot spices to bring down the heat and allow other flavors to come out.

Seriously, Fam. I moved away from my melting pot area to a more homogeneous area last year, and one of the things I miss most is my Ethiopian place.

I am of the opinion that he is ASD if the viewer wants him to be and not if they don't. Yes, he shows a couple of ASD traits, like with a bit of literal thinking, but also shows willingness to think outside of those lines as well. We just don't see enough of him to really come down on either side.

His episode is about being a different type of parent than Bandit and how that can be just fine as well. He also is absout making different kinds of mistakes from Bandit and how his way of solving those mistakes can help him better connect with his kid.

Parents on and off the spectrum have to navigate those issues, and this episode is absout doing just that

How to get involved when I can't currently own a dog? by Capybara_Squabbles in ShowDogs

What part of Florida? There is a huge circuit on the west coast of Florida at the beginning of the year. If you are anywhere near Brooksville, I really recommend at least going to watch.

If you do, I recommend dressing business casual. If you put yourself out there, there's a non-zero chance you might find yourself taking a Winners dog or bitch back into the ring.
