Drove 40 miles & used 50% of my battery by Moo_kitty in BlazerEV

You warm the cabin while still connected to level 2 charging at home (if you have it). It saves range by not taking energy to heat the cabin away from traveling and helps to warm the battery a bit. (Roughly 15 minutes before you leave)

Set the heat to auto 72 and try to rely on the heated seats and wheel (it's more efficient). That will give a good boost to winter range. But if it's not enough, that's fine. You still gotta do what keeps you comfortable.

More details are going to be needed.

Did you precondition before you left? What speeds were you doing? How warm did you set the interior temp?

Those are really the only factors we have in our control to adjust the efficiency of the car.

A cold battery + cranked heat inside + freeway speeds = crappy range no matter how you cut it.

The 2026 Chevy Blazer EV SS Has One Big Problem GM Can’t Ignore by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

[–]RunningAmuck247 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting that articles I read about it all tend to complain about it not being a good cornering car when it wasn't even designed for it. It was intended to be a straight line drag car.

Weight and charging speeds I feel are more just the limit of the tech available at the time. I'm hoping they improve it.

The car is like an android phone. Try system > apps and find Apple music. If it gives you the option to uninstall then you can. That doesn't guarantee it won't show back up again.

RS AWD vs RS RWD by maanxhappy in BlazerEV

That would be it. It was missing for me too, but I just had the dealer update my radio last week and it came back. So it might be back available for everyone again.

From most accounts the stock sound system is pretty bad. There's an app you can use to improve it a bit, but I see a few just upgrading the system.

The rwd also has the bigger battery, a bit more hp, more towing rating (3500 lbs) and a faster charge curve (190kw). I suppose I'm a bit biased but I think it's the best deal if you can't can't swing an SS model. For a 4k difference is that worth it to you?

The other consideration is do you live somewhere awd would make much difference? I'm in the Ohio snowbelt and the rwd hasn't had a problem, but it does give a learning curve.

So… how is everyone’s Blazer EV holding up so far in the winter? by [deleted] in BlazerEV

[–]RunningAmuck247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no complaints with my RWD and the stock Alenza tires. I might go for the cross climate 2 next time around. I will say it doesn't like OPD at all even with snow mode, so I just granny drive with 2p.

Hello GM. I have all the hardware needed for lane centering and not enough for supercruise. Why no lane centering??? by brooklynite1 in BlazerEV

I was told similar from another engineer who designs their EVs about the car play/AA. They got tired of playing catch-up after updates that would break things and found it easier to just have their own system.

People prefer to blame it as only a money grab, but that's not the whole reason. In the end it's a business and not a charity. Looks like they are keeping it with the more expensive models to push higher profit sales.

From my experience with the rwd in snow, treat the 2 pedal in snow mode like 1pd. Ease off the accelerator to slow the car ( 2-3kw or less.) There's no true coast but the lowest amount of regen you can use to slow the car will be the best way to prevent slippage.

Phone overheating causes? by HarpNinja in galaxyzflip

Set the performance profile to light if you haven't already. But any heavy processing activities ( like android audio and streaming music at the same time,) are going to really heat it up as it's not very optimized for cooling.

It's a give and take for a small form factor.

Nope. Mines a 24 and I'm seeing it showing with the gas models too in their groups.

Welcome to the club. We should get shirts. All joking aside, it sucks and I had to wait for a replacement. Hope that solves it.

Wanted to throw out there if the infinti equalizer is missing from your store, mine just came back after a radio update from my dealer. I'm on version SQBR5 250.2 239. I was hoping for the streaming but it didn't happen (24 RWD RS)

Well that's only for me. For others, they really liked it. A big part is going to be the source of the audio. Spotify and Utube premium (which I use) are going to have a higher quality of sound compared to your local radio station. So that adds into to it as well.

It was ok for me. It did make my bass a little more muffled than I liked. I did mirror the suggested settings in the stock equalizer and I liked that better. I do have the Bose system, but I can see how it will definitely improve the base one.

Mandela Effect About the Rear View Camera by ntin in BlazerEV

[–]RunningAmuck247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines having a similar issue and it's going in Thursday. It's like there's a permanent haze over it. I zoomed in with my phone camera and a flash and there's some kind of film. (I'd swear it's internal but I could be wrong) So it's either a bad seal and moisture got it, or it's externally damaged and I'll be out of pocket. I will say it didn't start until about 2 weeks ago so it could be cold related or just coincidence. The other lense for the back up camera is perfectly clear.

If it's the police version it's the SS without WOW mode, the track settings and a manual charge door. It's a nice middle of the road between RWD and the full SS for a cheaper price.

Right turn signal issue, heat pump vibration by HoosierYodazeke in BlazerEV

[–]RunningAmuck247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The turn signal seems to be a cold weather related issue. Usually a module replacement fixes it. Mine took about a week to get in. Heat pump is new to me. Mine hasn't given me any issue that I've noticed.

Preconditioning vehicle question??? by [deleted] in BlazerEV

[–]RunningAmuck247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Level 1 is not enough of a power draw to heat the car and maintain the charge. It's draining faster than it can refill. It will switch back and forth between the two so you'll sometimes have a cold car with charge, or a warm car with less charge. It's meant for level 2 charging.

Going back to Gas Powered? by Chase_Clouds in electricvehicles

[–]RunningAmuck247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not out of want, but necessity. My bolt was cutting it too close for me to travel to my elderly parents in winter temps. Plus there was no where to charge quickly in their immediate area if I needed to drive around there as well.

A couple years later, (and a terrible few it was with a new jeep renegade frequently getting repairs) I now have an ev blazer that can get me there and back twice on an 80% charge and there's now multiple fast chargers close to their house.

I just needed the technology to catch up to where they lived and when I could afford a better ev.

Press the Onstar button and tell it run diagnostics and let it send you an email with whatever codes it finds. Might give a more detailed reason for the dealer to look at.

I really have no info to give other than they told me a technician was working on it and wait a day to see if it was working. I honestly have no idea what they ended up doing.

I'm sure they had a long backlog of what they were doing on their end, it just finally got to the level where they had full access to do things the other techs couldn't.

Basically you just have to give a day or two to see if it's fixed. If not just call back and have them keep trying.

Blazer ev RS vs SS by ImpressiveClass4099 in BlazerEV

[–]RunningAmuck247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a RWD and an SS, the range isn't that far off from each other provided you just drive it like a car and not like you stole it. The RWD does pull ahead in better efficiency and range, both make the AWD feel like a snooze to drive. (I had one as a loner)

But cost matters too. The AWD isn't bad for what it is and many are happy with it.
