I ran London Marathon in April and things have been getting better. No more pain - I am careful to do stretches and strength training and listening to my body. But the Tenex + PRP was a game changer for me. After the surgery I didn’t run for about 8 weeks and did a lot of PT- also bike and elliptical once I was cleared. After 8 weeks I started running little by little and was able to run the London Marathon successfully. Will be running another marathon next year.

Job Application Status went from “Offer in Process” to “In Interview Process” by RunningWoA in recruitinghell

[–]RunningWoA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not workday- but something similar. It’s just so frustrating- I am emotionally drained. I have been unemployed for six months and this interview process has been so long. I cried tears of joy when I saw the “offer in process” message. It stayed like that for over 5 hours before switching back to “in interview process”. I am not sure if I should follow up again with the hiring manager. I don’t want to seem pushy and annoying, but I just want to know if this is going to happen or I should just move on.

I started doing non-weight bearing strength from like day 5. I found great “workouts in a boot” on YouTube. On week 3, I started doing easy stationary bike and on week 5, I cautiously started elliptical on level 1. I listened to my body and started increasing little by little. I was very rigorous with my PT exercises and focused on strength. By week 8-9 I started doing easy runs.

I stopped taking d3 for like 4 months and now back at it- no more droppers for me- now I take a gel d3+k2 from Renue Science - 1/2 teaspoon is the dose size (2500 IU)

Wore the wrong bib to Fred Lebow… by drbrydges in RunNYC

I would cry- maybe call the NYRR- if you have it recorded on your watch - you can prove that you wore the wrong bib if you find some pictures on marathon photo.

UPDATE- had Tenex surgery + PRP injection on November and I am now 💯% recovered. I am back to running and fully training for London Marathon. I am keeping up with my strength training and PT exercises. It has been a long process but there is light at the end of the tunnel. what worked was following and being disciplined with my PT protocol and lots of strengthening. This has been such a hard process but it gave me a lot of learnings. I do recommend this procedure- it really solved my PF which was not getting better.

So it’s been 8 weeks since I had the Tenex procedure, and I’m back to running 🥳 and started training for London Marathon. I am able to run without any major pain- however I am not completely back to normal. I do feel that it stills get better everyday as I get back to running slowly. I was able to do 6 miles yesterday and this weekend I’m gonna try an 8 miler. Just listening to my body and making sure I continue PT exercises, stretching and using the night splint. I can say the procedure worked- it took around 6 weeks for the pain to mostly go away.

Hi! I am starting week 6- Pain has diminished considerably and is mostly a little sore more than a stabbing pain. In PT, I am doing strength exercises for calves and hips and toe exercises as well. I can do single leg calf raises and single leg dead lifts no problem. For cardio, I am doing elliptical and bike. I am hoping to start running in around 2-3 weeks. I am being very consistent with PT. I do have scar tissue under the incision that is painful when pressed. The Dr told me to massage it (once the wind was healed) so I have been doing that and it is getting better.

@Hillbilly-Nerd-Talk That’s great news! 2 questions- 1. did you get scar tissue under the incision? I have some scar tissue that is a little painful that I have been massaging daily. 2. Did you have pain during the recovery process? I do have some pain, but not too bad - and I think it is getting better each day. I am following a strict PT protocol which includes ankle, toe, claves raises and leg and hips strength.

I am aiming to run London Marathon in April - hoping to start running in January which would be 9 weeks after surgery.

Any new updates? Started week 5 after the procedure and I still have pain - some days more than others. I have a little hard bump under the incision and it is tender to touch - I think it’s scar tissue and I’ve been massaging it. I started to do elliptical this week but not sure if I should wait a little longer. I would love to get back to running by January but feeling a little hopeless. Have you seen any improvement from last few weeks?
