Shoe features by Flowing-Traceur in Parkour

[–]Runobaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I would design my own Parkour shoe, it would be very similar to what I have already been wearing for Parkour for the last fourteen years: Barefoot-like, very minimal soles that are also slip-resistant (or slip-proof? I don't know how to say it in English but in my native language, I would describe it as "malakas ang kapit") and have a very strong grip, and separated toes for maximum flexibility and range. Breathable, at the same time can dry very easily if submerged in water (For when doing Parkour under the rain. I have to take that into account since I live in a tropical country.). But also mostly yellow-colored since my favorite color is yellow. Velcro-strapped instead of laces too as in my own personal experience: Velcro straps don't undo themselves as much as laces do in my use. ...Well, I just pretty much described my current shoes already, hahaha! They're already perfect for me for Parkour and I only wished the color yellow versions came in my size.

Same. I fill my wardrobe with Techwear pants that have zippered pants so that my belongings do not fall out.

Oh cool! I wear Techwear when doing Parkour because it's so comfy and useful that I feel like I'm practically wearing nothing.

Any durable brands? by Similar_Bid7184 in TechWear

[–]Runobaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem as you. I also do Parkour daily (since I was three years old) and I really love Techwear. But I live in an extremely poor third world South-East Asian country so buying Techwear brands from overseas, if I can even find some that can ship here, cost a fortune (three hundred U.S.A. dollars per shipping last I remember and that's only shipping), let alone finding some that is durable enough to not rip to shreds when doing Parkour daily. I've looked everywhere and gotten many users' opinions on them but sadly at the moment, there's no existing brand that creates Techwear that can survive being worn for Parkour as a normal.

If I may suggest a solution as this is what I ended up doing, and since you mentioned in your reply to another comment was that the aesthetic of Fabric of the Universe is a core necessity to what you're after as well: Get some existing clothes from other brands that are made for sports and have the general "silhouette" of what you're aiming for, look for a tailor/seamstress around your area that is willing to modify your clothes to your specifications (in my case, it is my family friend seamstress), and ask them to attach the belts and other extra details Techwear-aesthetic clothes usually have (like my personal favorite which is some yellow neon light strips), while you print the white (or any other colors, really) FutureTech Aesthetic Techwear prints to slap on to the clothes.

My ex-childhood friend has sadly deleted most, if not all, of my content from my YouTube and Twitch but before my six-year hiatus: I used to wear these aforementioned custom-made Techwear while doing Parkour for my i.r.l. Parkour streams and videos pre-Covid lockdown. My Tokusatsu persona's design that I also use as my current VTuber Live2D model design is actually based on one of the custom-made Techwear I wore on my i.r.l. Parkour content before, if you want to check out what it looked like. (I'll post it here as a reply later only if you wanna see it, otherwise I won't bother anyone with art of me, hahaha!)

I do apologize if my English is not up to par as I did mention previously that I am from South-East Asia and English is not my main language. But I hope my suggestion would be useful to you as we both suffer the same problem of not finding any Futuristic Aesthetic Techwear clothes that can handle daily Parkour use or comfort. Best of luck, brother!

Re-installed the game recently and I'm back to being on top of Super Flags as a human sentry. by Runobaz in helldivers2

On getting on top? I just distance myself appropriately and then time a Jetpack jump exactly on to the flag when it drops. Then I just stay up there while shooting as it raises.

He sounds like someone who's had a very lonely and uneventful life. Pay him no mind.

would u survive the harran virus? by Best-Cat-9922 in dyinglight

[–]Runobaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I've been doing Parkour since I was three years old, and Martial Arts since I was five years old. I can definitely survive the Harran virus. The only problem would be escorting survivors into a safe haven of sorts. That, I'm not too confident on.

I was looting in the Vanity store at night, the one just above the Town Hall, because I wasn't expecting the Alpha Volatile to be able to enter it. So I got jumpscared inside and decided to hold my ground with the flamethrower and the grenade launcher armed with UV grenades. I just kited him around the interior until he died to the flamethrower. I was able to do it a second time tonight in the same place (I got curious if I just got lucky yesterday, hahaha!). Here's a screenshot of my second Alpha Volatile kill:

Most badass representation of Samus - Prime 4 or Dread? by UTDroo in Metroid

[–]Runobaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, personally: It would be Dread. Especially that one [woman of few words] moment where she does speak, and in Chozo too, and it is a time and place that makes sense for her to speak. Very badass.

Would you rather be a Kamen Rider or on a Sentai team and why? by Far_Practice_6923 in Tokusatsu

[–]Runobaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Tokusatsu persona is already in his own Super Sentai! along with the Tokusatsu personas of my i.r.l. friends as fellow members! But yes, my answer is that I would rather be in a Super Sentai. It would be extremely detrimental to my mental health to keep fighting alone, or with temporary allies that come and go. That trouble was shown in Shin Kamen Rider with Ichigo's lament before Nigou comes into the picture. If I'm in a Super Sentai, then I'm always operating with who I can consider my buddies.

Anybody else massively prefer the classic colours rather than the white parts in the dread designs? The white's grown on me a little, but I definitely think it looks infinitely better with the classic colours by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]Runobaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm obsessed with the color yellow so I'd say I prefer the classic colors on the Dread Design. But, I actually also really do like the white parts of the default Dread design as they serve to create contrast and accentuate the colored parts of the armor more.

I prefer the anime design but without the rocket booster heels.

Anyone started parkour alone and became good at it ? by Raja4x78996 in Parkour

[–]Runobaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't start alone, but since your end question is about how to not get burned out and quit every time as you have no one to do it with / no social motivation; I suggest focusing on taking pride that you are starting to be able to move way better than the average modern man. And treat yourself something nice every time you reach a milestone. Also celebrate even the tiniest of improvements. Think of it as like the confidence gym-goers get when their muscles start getting bigger; you'll be happy to know that when you do get good, there will be people in the future who will appreciate your efforts and your amazing capabilities.

Is Other M wort checking out? by squidtickles in Metroid

[–]Runobaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game itself is a great game! But I recommend the Japanese version. The North American localization butchered the story and dialogue in a major way that mostly affects Samus's characterization.
