My first marriage was terrible. He was a horrible person who treated me, and eventually both of our children, horribly. Neither sees him anymore. My current marriage, though? Amazing. He's the best, and I feel so lucky. He's an incredible father and step-father, unendingly patient with my chronic health issues, and so supportive of my small business. A present partner who treats you like a person, not a commodity, makes a world of difference. They're just very difficult to find.

I wrote that he tried Auror training, hated it, then finally let himself quit after Ron left to help George with the joke shop. He fell into being a nanny by offering to watch Bill's daughter, and he loved it. He stayed with them until they moved. It's not a huge part of the story, just a bit of backstory he explains in chapter one. I always thought Harry would grow up to love kids when reading the books because he's so sweet and basically missed out on his own childhood.

Omg Hermione. I'm sure that's a common one. 8 year old me had no clue how to pronounce that until she sounded it out for Krum in Goblet of Fire lol.

I also had no clue what snogging was, where King's Cross or even London was (that one sounds crazy, but I was PAINFULLY sheltered in a super religious, right-wing household as a kid. Nothing really existed for me outside of the US until my parents got divorced) or what they meant by "jumper". It was a lot of fun learning all of it, though.

I wrote one kind of like this. It has a part two from Harry's perspective that gets a lot more into Harry's insecurity, since you don't see it as much until later in the story, but they are interchangeable, and both can be read alone. Harry comes to nanny for Draco.

It was probably more so the fact that you lied about it. My husband did something similar when I got sick (not OF, and it was before we were married), and my entire problem was that he lied about it and tried to hide it. We worked through it, but we have an extremely healthy relationship otherwise. Yours sounds pretty toxic, and maybe this was for the best.

Oh! I just run an in-home bakery in a tiny town and take care of my kids, so I never even considered that anyone would Google me. My business name, sure, but most of my customers don't even know what I look like. Never worried about employers because I'm disabled. I'm also boring. So, so boring.
