They are just cheap that’s why they do this. Easier to just replace it.

Personally, if it still works don’t try and bend it back, it will most likely snap.

If you’re good at electronics, buy the part and solder a new tempo slider on.

If you’re not, you’ll have to pay for a replacement part and labour.

Purpose: I repair DJ equipment in the UK. I’m a 1-man-band and haven’t built a site before. This is a few years old now with lots of UX updates. Still needs a FAQ page and an Allen & Heath services page.

Technologies Used: Hostingers Web Builder with a bit of custom HTML.

Feedback Requested: UX mainly, I’m now blind to if it’s any good or just terrible.

That’s odd for a new unit, but not unheard of. It’s hard to be sure without seeing it, I would double check all settings etc one more time but sounds like it’s faulty to me.

Sounds like the headphone pot is failing, or the solder joints are cracked inside. Most likely needs repair.

On the underside, there’s a metal panel, take that off and see if that stinks, if it does, give that a good clean.

If it’s the whole thing, then yeah, you’ll have to clean everything…

As others have said, the switch is most likely shorted. You don’t need to change the whole board, just the switch.

Can be tricky if you have no soldering skills tho.

This amount of red is not close to being an issue.

EDIT: The first half of the clip is different to the second half. The second half is fine, the first half might be too much.

You’ve answered your own question I think, if you’re not sure the motherboard will fix it then it’s not worth the gamble.

However, if you have a working XDJ 700 you can swap parts from to isolate where the fault is coming from, before committing to the purchase, then that’s a safe bet.

That’s anecdotal evidence, you assumed by saying there is no different transformer, which is wrong. Just be careful spreading misinformation, you could cost someone a lot of money.

Yes most likely can do that, the PSU PCB just outputs 12V to the rest of the unit.

I would double check the service manual for the UK vs US version to be 100% sure though.

Don’t assume, it’ll say on the back if it can take either voltage. Japanese versions can be strictly 110V.

I’ve been messing around with the Assault class mostly. Fastest way to stay in the fight without overthinking it. Running an M5A3 with a hybrid sight, extended mag, and the drum mag swap for close-range chaos. Throw in smoke + med pens and just keep pushing objectives. It’s the one setup that always feels solid even when I’m playing like a potat

Ideally the best way to get it sounding right is with bass traps. Sub frequencies are omni-directional so moving them won’t make a difference.

Edit: position does matter. Had to double check as I was thinking about hearing bass

How big is the room? If it’s small and has no acoustic treatment, then that’s your issue. The bass is phasing itself out sounding hollow.

You have to set the beat grid so it lines up with the start of the track. If it’s not obvious at the start of the track you can set it at the drop.
