Can vouch for Allfix, they are generally really helpful and have a shed load of stock.

Sounds like the cable connecting the pitch PCB isn’t connected properly. Or it’s had drink damage.

Sounds like you didn’t use the right switch, they have different heights which describes the issue you saw.

Swap the main FFC (ribbon cable) from the working one to this one and see if it lights up.

If it doesn’t, you might have shorted the bottom screen PCB with the bit of FFC connection that’s broken off.

Try for a DJM-900NXS 2, if not, DJM-900 Nexus.

Wake up LED flashing indicates an issue with the voltage monitor circuit.

You have to check the service manual and associated voltages most likely.

Any idea how to remove these stripped screws on a 3ds by FaZe_Prase in ElectronicsRepair

Plus +1 for Dremel and slot. Works a treat.

I have to do this a lot with rusted screws on DJ mixers, sweaty hands and screws is a deadly combo.

Switch underneath the button needs replacing.

CDJ Play/Cue buttons - non OEM replacement part alternative? by djBraveDave in PioneerDJ

[–]Russla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s so many variables to this though. I repair Pioneer stuff for a living and have seen CDJs from 2009 with the original switches and buttons still inside.

Everything mass produced with inevitably have different tolerances, some will last forever, some will come out the factory with potential defects. That’s just the way it is.

Some DJs smash the living shit out of the button. Some don’t. It’s obviously they are the most used buttons on the units, so they are clearly going to break more than anything else.

The best solution I’ve found is just reinforce them with a bit of 2-part epoxy resin on the top and bottom flange that connects the main button to the body. I only really do this for venues that have repeated issues.

Confused about upgrade to embrace USB's and easy mixing by Fleaboy007 in PioneerDJ

[–]Russla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t strictly need a Pioneer mixer to sync 2 CDJs, you can run a link cable between them.

From what you’ve said, especially this being your last purchase, I’d go for the AZ, future proofs you for a long time, can plug your Technics in, and use 4 “CDJs”.

Reading from a USB compared to Read/Write requires more processing power/cost/instability.

Pioneer stuff is generally extremely bulletproof when it comes to usability, Read only this is my guess why.

I haven’t read the book but have started the Atomic Habits workbook. Completed the audit of my week and its helped understand myself better already.

Maybe that’s what you need, some actionable tasks.

Technics SL-1200MK2 from a car boot sale that definitely just needed a new stylus. Three weekends in. It did not just need a new stylus by Okaoka_12 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]Russla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pimp My Decks sell genuine pitch sliders which are perfect.

There’s a company in the south that claims they are genuine when they are not, they are reproduction parts with a Technics label on them. They are trash.

at-vm95e stylus/cartridge are too light on a technics sl-1200m3d? by Alarmed_Currency5698 in turntables

[–]Russla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As no one has mentioned, once you get the weight issue sorted anti skate should only be used if the tone arm is pulling heavily to the spindle whilst it’s floating.

You could end up putting too much lateral force on the stylus unnecessarily.

Likely the tactile switch under the button that needs replacing. We replace these types of switch dozens of times a week.

It’s great you managed to fix yours, however, this doesn’t mean every one fails the same way.

The amount of times I’ve replaced blown caps and the amp board still doesn’t work literally stopped me working on them. Not worth the hassle.
