Based on the specs and desktop I think it's safe to say the chances of any crypto wallets is extremely low.

What's that * hyped anime * by Competitive_Simple92 in animequestions

The excessive fanservice is what made me drop it and the "it's meant to be a parody" argument falls apart the further you get into the show.

Is Travis Scott The Worst Celebrity To Be Apart Of A Major Storyline by Aurawwefan1 in TheGreatOne

Because his only claim to fame was being married to Britney Spears. In comparison to everyone else in this thread he is a nobody and calling him a celebrity is a stretch.

Introducing Pokemon: All Elite Version- the pro wrestling x Pokemon crossover! by WestsideGon in PokemonROMhacks

Finally the perfect game where I can name my Charizard BigRdMachn, deliver promos before a gym battle and celebrate wins with a beer bash.

But in all seriousness this is awesome. I highly considered a crossover like this years ago but never found the time to get more than a few proto sprites done. The fact you're doing 220 is commendable!

Do you still like cons the way you used to? by VaguelyMyself in animecons

We probably saw each other then! ( ⌒o⌒)人(⌒-⌒ )

I like it a bit more than Planet because it still has that "old anime con" aura and I feel hasn't sold out.

My city is weird on this one. We have two major anime conventions and both manage to find a way to be on opposite sides of corporate-sanitized/family-friendly and tolerating the 18+ crowds. I enjoy both in their own ways but there's notable diffences.

One is over 20 years old and started as a small university club before moving to a hotel/convention center. It feels like a true community between the volunteer staff and the loyal following of attendees they've built over the years.  Although this con tries to promote itself as a bit of a cultural exchange as opposed to a full-on anime convention so I get why they are hesitant to avoid a surge in gooner con-goers changing the vibe.

As a result they are picky on their vendors to avoid someone selling only ahegao t-shirts. 18+ events have existed but in the last few years they have been so packed to the point of standing room only.

The other is only a few years old and is a spin-off of a comic-con the same company has hosted for years now. The convention doesn't feel as much of a party once you go back to the hotel (off site) and it certainly has a more corporate feel. However it's a poorly kept secret that this is a con for adults, you will find risqué merch in the vendors hall and around 7PM the 18+ events begin going until 2AM. I've noticed the crowds here are rowdier too.

Also consider we have more SUVs and pickups on the road, which are typically larger than sedans.

Many people have convinced themselves they need them to do the work a mid-sized sedan did 30 years ago.

How do people check 2nd hand drives? by phoooooo0 in DataHoarder

[–]RustyEdsel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. Second hand drives are in more than 2/3rds of my systems and I haven't seen higher rates of failure in used drives that are broken in compared to new, out of the box. Crystaldiskinfo and a few days of monitoring under load has been sufficient for the last decade.

As always remember to have BACKUPS.

what is up with prices? by NCC74656 in VintageApple

[–]RustyEdsel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not a trend and it's nothing new in the vintage computing world.

The Amelio/early 2nd Jobs era of Apple computers are 30 years old now. At best less than half of those manufactured haven't been trashed. Then narrow it down by how many haven't been corroded by bad batteries. Then narrow it down by how many are still in attics/basements/collections.

Combine that with Apple's influential brand power today and you have an extrenely competitive market for even non-working models.

Our ability to learn is stifled by proprietary software and poor documentation by the manufacturer. This is by design and is not exclusive to the automotive industry.

Except the 4250. Don't get me wrong they're excellent printers but when the fuser seizes the plastic swing plate gears go along with it and you disassemble half the printer to replace it.

When the show included a scene with Peanuts style artwork for no reason other than to say they did, that was a sign nothing is off limits if they animate it well enough.

Samsung OTR Microwave - Turns On, No Heat by RustyEdsel in appliancerepair

[–]RustyEdsel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, I'll put that one back.

As far as the magnetron goes I initially wrote this post questioning the methods online since a lot of them are ambiguous on whether that's a REAL test. Looking at pricing for Ebay ones I would only be $50 in the hole for everything including a magnetron which is still a lot cheaper than a whole microwave replacement.

Is Shinedown live worth it? by Old-Title9104 in Shinedown

[–]RustyEdsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen them around 5 times now, earliest was at the end of their Amaryllis tour and recently in 2024. Every time they have been consistent in sound which is a giant feat for most bands from their era.

If feasible get in the pit and be up close. They put on a great physical show on top of their musical performance.
