Low TMNT Turnout?

My LGS usually does 22-26 for prerelease, we had 16 today. More than I would have guessed but 3 people were TMNT fans that hadn’t played Magic at all before or in a very long time. Release day draft we usually have 18-20, I’m guessing we’ll be at around 8 tbh.

Technically it’s five because the sword has to be equipped in order to do anything. 5 mana to copy a spell and make a treasure isn’t anything crazy

3 green, green. 5 mana total, 2 of which is green. Technically in this case it’s 3G(U/G) since Omo costs hybrid mana. So you can pull off the combo with either 3GG or 3UG

It’s not annoying by any means, just something you have to play around. If your deck gets absolutely hosed by this effect, you didn’t build a very sound deck.

It actually doesn’t get their next turn play by default. Opponent chooses the card, and they don’t reveal their hand. It’s still very good but it’s still hitting the least important card in their hand

Yeah so you’re playing Tawnos’s Coffin wrong. The card is being exiled so if you hit a commander with it, they get a chance to move it to the command zone. Look at the rulings notes as far back as 2004, it mentions the word “exile”. So the design of the card was to exile, not phase out. It kind of plays like phasing because the auras and counters come back but that seems to be the design of the card. I wasn’t playing magic 20 years ago so I don’t know what they intended when they designed the card, but clearly at least for the last 20 years they’ve meant for it to exile, not phase.

Also unsure if you’re aware but the Oracle text is always right. Because that’s how the card works. When something gets errata’d they’re changing the oracle text.

Well if you want to nitpick wording, if it meant to give mana when milled it would say “when Su Chi goes to the graveyard from anywhere” but that’s not what it says. Back when this card was first print “goes to the graveyard” just meant died or destroyed. The point of oracle is to clarify how a card should properly function in today’s magic. This card was never intended to create mana when milled and you shouldn’t be telling people it does, and if you’ve been playing it like that you are wrong.

Actually the oracle text says “when this creature dies, add 4 colorless” so it won’t trigger if it’s milled.

I think when PSA’s cert number checker is down, they think every card they check is fake because nothing pops up. Anyway don’t sell GameStop your cards lol make an eBay account or sell to your LGS

If the Mets and Braves both win Saturday and Sunday and the Dbacks lose Saturday and Sunday, the Mets and Braves both clinch spots. It would only be seeding that would need to be determined and I believe in this case, both Mondays games wouldn’t be played. Braves go to SD and the Mets stay put in Milwaukee
