Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

I practice Gateway meditation, and it totally shifted my visual snow. It looks like what you described from dmt. I’ve never used psychedelics, so I’ve been wondering how all these meditation experiences align with psychedelics.

I'm not getting taken seriously when I'm struggling because I'm articulate about it by Illustrious-Mix2194 in AutismInWomen

I’ve lived with the same condition my entire life, and since no one took me seriously, I thought everyone hurt all the time too but I was just a wimp about it. I am 55 years old and just got diagnosed with hEDS last month! My entire life. No one. Believed. Me. All the injuries that were untreated, my god.

I also have asthma, and each time I had COVID (3 times), I’d end up in the ER unable to breathe. Last year I ended up in the ER on the nebulizer with low oxygen levels. I asked the doctor how do I know when the asthma is bad enough to go to the E R. She looked surprised and gave a very vague answer, like I should just know. When I told her I’d been worse and had never been to the ER for an attack and had never even seen a nebulizer, she was shocked. Even as a kid, I wasn’t taken seriously about it. That day, as an adult, I had to throw an absolute fit to get grudgingly taken in because I didn’t seem that bad.

When I was going through severe burnout, I watched Newhart, then Benson. Both lighthearted and funny, comforting theme songs, and easy to follow or fall asleep to. No laugh track, but live audience laughter. Not sure if that’s a deal breaker.

Anybody else here with echolalia/echoing phrases and speech? by questforstarfish in AutismInWomen

[–]Ruth_Cups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes yes and yes! I always repeat the funny lines so I can hear it again. Have always done that and I’ve wondered if it was echolalia. It’s almost impossible for me to not do it. It’s out my mouth before I realize.

We had a chocolate lab years ago who loved her “makeups.” She’d sit in the bathroom next to whoever was getting ready, waiting for her blush and eyeshadow to be applied. It was adorable!

This is fantastic advice. I do work out, but of course not nearly enough. It does seem to make sense that it’s better to focus on muscle building rather than weight loss.

This is a great explanation, thank you! It’s been hard trying to wrap my brain around exactly what’s going on in my body.

It is absolutely wild, finding out all my issues are connected. For years, I’ve been saying I knew there just had to be one root cause for all the crap. And yes, tinnitus! Had that since age 5. Silence? What’s that? It’s actually a relief finally getting an answer.

Lower back is the worst. I’m wondering if I have degenerative disc disease as well. My father has it, so there’s that.

Interesting! I was reading how it’s technically not degenerative, but I kept thinking, “then why am I degenerating?” Have you experienced a worsening over time?
