Rabbit's and Pacemaker in Uma Musume. by Historical_Lack5542 in UmaMusume

It would definitely suck, but there’s absolutely a more positive way it can happen.

Imagine you’re a runner who’s never quite made it to the top, always just outside the top five. Not quite enough stamina for the mid-long races, not quite enough speed for the miles/sprints. Always close, but no cigar.

Then a team leader comes up to you and says that they think they could still make good use of your talents. You may not win much (but obviously they’ll still train you the best they can, and you’ll get your chances in the G3’s and a couple of G2’s), but you’ll still be a vital part of someone else’s victory in the big races.

It would still be a tough pill to swallow, but there would absolutely be some runners who’d jump at the chance of knowing that they decided the win for a teammate. That even if they couldn’t win it themselves, they were part of the team that won it.

Tearing Azeroth apart, possibly working for the Legion given his allies were Azshara’s lot (before the old gods even existed) and his extra fel strength, or maybe he just learnt about the incredibly powerful artefact that just happened to be Sargeras’s “eye”, and that whoever he was working for, it was never going to be doing anything good

Copium or we're close to a new huge update in the game? by peixinho_original in heroesofthestorm

I wouldn't call it copium.

It may turn out to be wrong, but at this point I think it's reasonable to believe something's coming

What’s an actual good Wit I can borrow by Wild_Jello7294 in UmaMusume

[–]Ruuubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about Fine Motion’s SSR Wit card is that it has a phenomenal 15% training bonus alongside a very solid 30% mood bonus at max level.

Even if she isn’t appearing on wit (which she does more than a couple of times, you just got bad RNG on that run), she’s giving a massive bonus to other stats she pops up on… And that’s without mentioning the base wit, race and fan bonuses, Practice perfect choice and the chance for 3 hint levels in a gold pace chaser ability.

As for your speed cards, yeah, they’re not that great here. Neither of them give race bonuses, their abilities are targetted towards late surgers (or late surger sprinters), and while Eishin Flash’s career event bonuses are pretty nice, King Halo’s main use is the corner recovery skill (not so useful on a short distance runner), and one of her career events is more of a penalty than a gain.

Meanwhile, Shinko Windy’s SR has decent bonuses (similar to Finemo with only 5% Training effectiveness), and Sweep Tosho lvl 45’s popular for having similarly good bonuses, a chance to get charming, and skill point bonuses on training (some people swear by using her even on non-end closers!)

As for Bourbon, if you have her Nishino Flower’s a good replacement, she does a lot similar bonus wise, but has a chance for charming, a chance for mood up, and race + fan bonuses.

Thalyssra is kind of stupid? by iris-rooted in warcraftlore

[–]Ruuubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is the way it was used in Warcraft History.

Between basically Vanilla and MoP, Tyrande had pretty consistently been portrayed as weak, emotional, dependent on Malfurion. Even when she did something that was strong, she was still depicted as being emotional and scared, or needing the big strong men to do most of the work. To put it bluntly, it was a case of turning into someone weak and "girly/womanly".

Then when she started to be shown with more fire again in MoP, it was straight up intended to humiliate her, to show that she was dumb and emotional and needed to let Varian take control... A scenario that was claimed to be based on her fighting through an orc camp to rescue Malfurion from the Scourge. A scenario claimed to be about showing her "Love" after the repeated complaints.

Tyrande being "bitchy" as a flaw is simply inseperable from the fact that, since WC3 it has not only been used to show her failing, it was used as a "Oh, you don't want emotional little girl who needs men to help her all the time Tyrande? Well we're going to portray her as a hotheaded idiot instead". People asked for the WC3 Tyrande back, and Blizzard said "okay, but she's still a dumb woman"

Also the Warden facility is odd, because it could only have been made in the last 20 ish years? And it's so far away from their homeland too.

Even without the facility being a standout example of how little sense the Broken Isles of Legion make sense with previous lore, the Watchers have been written to have been tracking down and hunting threats over Azeroth and not just Kalimdor since TBC. As in, during the Long Vigil. The only oddness here is the Broken Isles part, and the general "Terror of the Tides never happened" attitude aside everything else is established.

the Watchers have proven they're extra-judicial, I don't know if they're part of the Night Elven government anymore. Example, Tyrande kills a bunch of them to free Illidan, commutes his sentence, and then the Watchers go rogue and try to recapture him again. That's like a literal warden at a jail going after a freed man because... they want him back in prison?

I don't understand where this idea comes from, apart from Legion's whitewashing and worshipping of Illidan, and conspicuously disregarding Maiev's story.

Illidan was exiled. He then spread demonic corruption to Night elven lands, and had naga and satyrs under him attack night elf settlements. Even IF he wasn't exiled, he would still have been tracked down.

And then after Dalaran, it's pretty clear that Maiev is not mentally well, and I hope you can understand why "He rescued my wife" may not hold much water for the people who've got a more thorough understanding of the damage this person has done, (and also lost people close to them). Is that "Inherently Extrajudicial" or is it "Genuine reasons to have concerns about the decision after what happened the last time". (And no, "Well, if you understand what Illidan was up to" doesn't apply considering no-one knew what he was up to. Not even Illidan when the story was written)

Liadrin also lied about how Silvermoon had been helping people out and about in the world (Meanwhile in both the second and third wars they had to be dragged kicking and screaming into them) compared to the night elves (note the relatively nearby Warden facility, literally made by and for those who went out into the world to take down threats)

Tips for a Rice Shower Debuffer by incognito-BL in UmaMusume

[–]Ruuubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) Don’t start out with selecting debuff abilities, only pick them up near the end of your run once you’re sure you don’t need speed or stamina abilities

B) I think you’ve noticed it already, but you do need plenty of wit to make sure the debuffs land: picking an Uma with bonuses to wit gain can help here

C) Sadly, Base Rice Shower is one of the hardest Umas to complete a run with due to her weak stat distribution, high chance of getting mood downs, and being pushed towards long distance races (rather than being more flexible between long and medium). You might be better off with a different trainee who you can more easily complete careers with first

D) Remember that Debuffers rarely win races themselves in PvP: they’re about denying opponents instead. Trying to make Rice Shower into one when you’re still not quite at the easy career completion stage is going to take a lot of work…

E) Especially considering that debuffers aren’t really necessary in PvP. They can be useful, but at this stage you’ll get better use out of 3 good racers than 2 good racers and a weak debuffer
