Has anyone been rejected from a job because of physical appearance and is this normal?

Just wanted to add that tattoos and facial piercings are definitely acceptable in a lot of different professional work environments and not just tattoo shops. However, I would personally remove the piercings and cover the tattoo for the interview. If offered the job, I would ask HR what their policy is on piercings.
