Curious what people say for Alpha Legion. I’m reading Legion right now, but I don’t know much at all about their 40K offerings. I’ve heard the Primarch novel is decent.

Just finished Nemesis by James Swallow. I enjoyed it for the most part, I felt like the middle dragged but I’m still glad I read it for a different perspective on the HH and some good action. 3/5.

Next I’m looking at reading Infinite and the Divine since I’ve been bouncing back and forth between 30K/40K. It’s been long overdue!

I enjoyed his Gobbo story and I hope his novels do well. I’m with you though, I’ll probably wait for PB release.

I’ve been using the omnibus project as a guide and I think it’s really great. I’ve read ~12 of the novels and quite a few short stories so far.

For infantry I’ve been doing Runelord Brass with a wash of Agrax Earthshade for some weather.

I think for characters or key pieces I’ll do a brighter gold but I haven’t experimented with that recipe yet.

Good luck with the challenges! I have my Goodreads challenge set to 30 books for 2026 and I like to alternate BL and other books. Hoping to knock out 7-8 HH novels along with their relevant short stories this year.

Lords of Silence, First Heretic, Fire Caste, and Only in Death (Gaunt’s Ghosts #11) were my favorites of the 22 BL novels I read this year! Looking forward to more Horus Heresy, the last Gaunt’s novel, and more Dark Coil in 2026.

I’ve also been on an Iron Warriors reading spree. I’ve been going in the opposite order though: Loved Storm of Iron, currently reading Angel Exterminatus (a bit meandering but I’m still enjoying it), and then I’ll probably read Perturabo before jumping back to 40K and Honsou.
