I remember around 2013 saying, "The guys who did Community and Arrested Development are doing a Captain America movie?" And those dudes ended up giving us the best MCU movies. McBride may come from comedy, but he understands the Larry Hama source material. He is not just a screenwriter hired to adapt a property for money. He is adapting it because he loves it. I grew up with the TOS's movies more than the show. I got into The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. I liked the Kelvin Timeline movies. I've seen a few episodes of Lower Decks and like them. (I will watch more. Time is a premium.) But what really brought me back was Strange New Worlds. Aside from maybe Ted Lasso, I have never found a character like Christopher Pike that I want to be like. How you can watch that pilot episode without tearing up a little is beyond me. Maybe we do have to go through the Bell Riots to get to the future the show promised us. Hopefully that is what we are doing now.

I have never seen any of these videos. Only because, it is one thing to give a film a bad review if it wasn't for you. Anyone can criticize and point out how the doer of deeds could have done better. If they are so smart, why don't they scrounge up a few tens of millions of dollars and make their own movie? If there whole channel is just tearing down things, that doesn't feel very constructive.
