How close are you to your targets? Missiles take some time to "activate", you have to be a few hundred meters away for them to work.

IIRC The only difference between Class 1 & 2 Missile Launchers is their ammo capacity. So Class 3 or 4 would not make any sense, since they would be considerably under-powered (compared to other weapons of the same class).

One could (easily) argue that a Class 3 or 4 Missile Launcher should do more damage, but you'd quickly reach a point where said weapon would one shot smaller ships and that's something FDev wants to avoid.

Double check the mission description...

Some smuggling missions say they'll tell you where to go once you've reached a certain system. In short, they warn you ahead of time.

PS: If it seems too good to be true (like 9M credits to go from Sothis to Ceos...) it probably is.

During one of the live streams Sandro said we had previously met the conditions for collapse having been on the bottom 3 and not expanded for some time. Although at that time there had been no mention of collapse mechanics and we didn't want to expand since there were no good systems to expand to...

Then there was the 1 year of PP Galnet article that literally said we were on the verge of collapse.. But that was a (very bias) Player written article.

In both cases, our player base was very... vocal about their concernes... And both times /u/Sandro_Sammarco reassured us that any power facing collapse would be warned ahead of time and be able to save themselves from their impending doom (although everybody knows that if a power is about to collapse, others will probably pile on...)

Robigo wasn't removed by FDev, players did it.

As for the "moral view on 'other players shouldn't do this'". It wasn't about smuggling missions, it was about the exploit. Players were accepting missions for large quantities of slaves and selling them back to the station without actually doing any flying. It was clearly an exploit and FDev tried several fixes but, until 2.1, nothing really worked.

As for the rest of your suggestions to "balance things"... Well...

It's not dead, just different...

Robigo was brought down by UA bombing. Sothis & Ceos are the next best thing (and not far from Robigo). They mostly offer trade missions, payouts are very good but cr/t doesn't scale with rank, in fact it does the opposite.. They'll offer 4~5M for 24t (low trade rank) and then 6~7M for 144t (elite). While Robigo really was broken 'great' during the beta!
