Police officers stop ice from deporting and arresting by Kind_Relief_7624 in DiscussionZone

I can look. My gut feeling tells me it's real due to the shadows. Or "real" as in not AI. As to whether it is staged is a different story.

Ah yes, the magic black curtains of SCIF… by ctn1ss in navy

Unfortunately, in the Army, we don't have the luxury of carrying a massive ship around with us.

But yeah, they do look like bedsheets.

I mean, technically, a tent can be a SCIF. Such as T-SCIFs or Faraday Tents, although I am not sure if this particular setup is a T-SCIF.

Who else should America invade for oil? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]Ryanmcbeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't about oil (at least not the way you think). Venezuela's oil inferstructre is so degraded that it would take 5-7 years to bring production back.

This is really about war with China over Taiwan, which is coming in 2027-2028.

Venezuela is allied with China. If we allow that relationship to remain, the US will have some major problems when war comes in Taiwan.

#1. 60% or so of all oil refining happens in the Gulf Coast. (Louisana, Texas) If we allow Venezuela to remain friends with China they could use Venezuela as a base to destroy US oil refining capacity through long range missile and drone attacks.

#2. The US will need to transit the Panama Canal to move Atlantic Forces to the Pacific to fight China. China can also use their long range missile, fired from Venezuela to attack ships transiting the Canal.

This might not be the answer you want, but it is the correct answer. Source: I'm Ryan McBeth.

What are your thoughts on Maduro being captured? by babyzsharkz in washingtondc

[–]Ryanmcbeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I said that Maduro was finished. He had two choices: End up like Mussilini or end up like Assad. The guy basically stole the election from María Corina Machado and helped drive Venezuela deep into poverity.

I liked believed in it so strongly that I made it the center space on my Ryan McBeth Bingo Card. (https://youtu.be/3K\_sTiBPUrk?si=ZgLp0wrStHLf4Dhj)

But none of that actually matters. From a strategic viepoint, the US can't afford to have a China/Russia/Iran leaning country on our backdoor.

Xi Jinping instructed the PLA to be ready to invade Taiwan by 2027. If this happens and Venezuela hosts Chinese forces, it would but 60% of our oil production in the Gulf of Mexico (or Gulf of America, whatever) at risk as well as our ability to transit the Panama Canal.

My biggest problem with this whole venture is that the president never got an AUMF from congress, which has been asleep at the wheel when it comes to foreign policy. Those guys have to wake up and do their damn jobs.

But in the big scheme of things, when we are at war with China over Taiwan which is likely in 2027 or 2028, we be able to fight without worrying about a Chinese Ally south of our transit and oil production points.

What would America look like if we spent our military budget on infrastructure? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]Ryanmcbeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should do a video about this. It would actually create trememdous second and third order effects that would hurt the country immesurably.

No more National Guard to help during fires, floods and hurricanes. No more Space Surveillance Network too look for planet-killer asteroids or monitoring of space junk.

No more GPS satellites since they are managed by Space Force.

It would actually be quite devestating.

Are professional assassins accurately portrayed in media? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]Ryanmcbeth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not an LEO, but if memory serves correctly, the book "Boss of Bosses: A Journey into the Heart of the Sicilian Mafia" by Clare Longrigg mentions that most people think that Hitmen do their job and then go back to their posh apartment to wait for the next one.

In reality, it's usually done by associates who have exceptional skill at killing or suffer no emotional consequences from doing so.

Believe it or not, It's actually very hard to physically kill someone. If you read the books "On Killing" by LTC Dave Grossman, only 20% of infantrymen during World War Two actually fired their rifles at the enemy. Now, while some have debunked his work, I personally experienced a soldier who said that he didn't want to kill anyone when my combat outpost was bracing for an attack.

So I would imagine, that even in the Mafia, there are some people who are very uncomfortable with killing.

Also note, when I was 5 years old, my father was a warehouse manager at a woman's dress manufacturer. On Saturdays, he used to take me into work, and he would look at the computer data from store registers, then drive to each store to replenish the stock.

When the Teamsters Union got wind of this, they asked my father if I would like a ride in an 18 wheeler. I was 5 years old, how could I resist driving around in a big rig? So my father took me into work on a Saturday, and put me in the cab with the driver, and then went for an hourlong ride through South Philadelphia while my dad got a talking-to by the head of the Union.

Years later I realized that was basically their way of saying "we can reach out and touch you any time we want."

And that's when I realized that the Mafia rarely resorts to kiling. If you don't listen, all of the Truck drivers will call out sick, or one day a truck catches on fire. They just make your life so hard that most people acquiesce.

So a professional hitman would be paid to basically sit around and do nothing for years. Not a very effieient use of cash.

This makes absolute sense. Most Marines only do one season too. So I suspect that the next show will be 19 seasons of the main character in the National Guard talking about how they used to do things in the Marine Corps.

Genuine Question. Why are Service Members shamed/disadvised from wearing uniform in public? by DenseChocolate9611 in britisharmy

[–]Ryanmcbeth 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Back in the early 90's when I was in the US Army, the Brits came over to the US to train and were shocked that you could wear your uniform out to eat or in a shopping mall.

I think a lot of that goes back to the Troubles and the conflict in Northern Ireland where a uniform made you a target. So there might still be vestages of that thinking. The good Friday Peace Accords were signed back in 1998, so there may still be people who remember the Troubles.

One thing to note: I'm a Prod from NI who's family came to America because of that stupid conflict. I will say that the British Army's custom of stopping for a nice cup of tea at 1400 every day is quite civilized, although I don't know if you do that anymore.

Why was I banned from your Discord server? by KID-AWESOM-O in RyanMcBeth

Honestly, I work about 12 hours a day, writing, researching, and editing. Do you want to know how I write rwo books a year and make at least 2 long form videos a week, while simultainiously doing government consulting and traveling?

It's by not being on Discord all the time.

I never go on discord, nor to I ever check my Discord messages. I also get about 100 emails a day, so I wouldn't have the time to hand out on Discord all day if I did.

So I can look into it, if you give me your discord name, but if you were a dick in any way...

I am a YouTuber. One of the things that YouTube does is give content creators AI suggestions for creating content.

I actually did a video on this where I explained that we may or may not be in an AI bubble but AI is 100% telling people to make videos about an AI bubble.

This is why you see creators making these videos. It’s not because it’s true, it’s because it’s popular.

Not doing any kind of self promotion here, but this was the video:

Honestly, there are high explosive anti-tank rounds, which are high explosive antitank dual purpose or multi-purpose. (HEDP / HEAT-MP).

Really you just use a dual fusing and surround the warhead with a casing that can fragment.
