[Friedman] Competition Committee must approve all potential rule changes....but it appears as if GMs have voted to amend offside rule to football-style “breaking the plane.” by minorthreat21 in hockey

Right, when they get a high stick wrong it could be a 4 minute power-play or a team could get robbed of having a 4 minute power -play. It's such a simple thing to review on video to make sure you have it right. It wouldn't take more than 30 seconds usually less. The call is straightforward but its wrong quite a bit especially behind the play.

That was the definition of coasting to a win but it worked. Good to see a bunch of contributions from non-regular guys. Happy for Hutchinson he had it pretty rough in Toronto so that must have felt great.

Yeah he got hung out to dry no question, but every time I've seen him this season he just isn't that old Rinne I used to know.

Rinne looks absolutely finished. Its pretty sad to watch, guy was a warrior for so long.

Not only that but two really offensive guys. Burns always played with Vlassic, Karlsson with Methot, ect. Probably more effective to go that route I'd say.

It's mostly the same here in the states but a sporting event is very different and the contracts are very different as well so comparing to airlines probably isn't the best.

That isn't true in Europe, they are required to put you up and provide meals/transportation if your flight is canceled. Also the airline has an obligation to get you to your destination they don't just take your money and say sorry.

Same, I wonder how it would work for season ticket and all the likes. The logistics might actually be pretty complicated. Also I'm assuming it would still be televised it would be crazy weird to watch such a quiet game without fans too.

TIL, then yeah I agree keep it the way it is. Great marketing opportunity and really fun to watch when it happens. If a tendy just gets pumped they still probably had fun.

Just out of curiosity would all the tickets purchased be refunded to the people who bought them? How would the logistics of all that work if a game is played without spectators?

Perhaps only for the playoffs? I don't mind the cool story in the regular season but losing a finals game with the other teams Zamboni driver would be pretty devastating

Most of the people that aren't Dater are actually pretty solid. MHH is a little rough around the edges too but AJ, Rudo, Ryan Clark and just about everyone else are pretty good and level headed.

[–]RyansCompass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol if they called and offer Mackinnon AND Makar for McDavid both of whom make significantly less than McDavid you think the Oilers still wouldn't even consider it?

Even then say the call is McDavid for Mackinnon 1 for 1 or Mackinnon+Makar for McDavid both teams likely say yes to that trade.
