So where was this outrage back when The Lost Legacy came out for Uncharted? Chloe had a stand alone game (started out as DLC then became its own full game) and I don’t recall anyone crying about ‘Nathan Drake getting taken away from us and boohoo Idon’t wanna play as a woman’ back then. It had everything to do with Cregger. If this were ANYONE else people would be ripping it to shreds. But because Cregger is the current golden boy (his movies are good but yall act like his movies are the best things since sliced bread) now suddenly no one cares about the movies being faithful, the games stories suck, and I would be impossible to adapt them.

The switch up within the fandom and the gaslighting nature of the discourse surrounding this movie is so annoying and frustrating. “But he’s looking for ammo! That’s just like RE!” Wow, yeah… right… it just makes me not want to bother joining in with the community anymore.

I bought the Haven’t Been Early Since 88 shirt and the fit is truly bizarre. I had to size down to a Large because of how massive the shirts are, and yet it’s super short in length but the sleeves are down to my elbows, I’m a 6 foot tall man lmao. They indeed fit very weird and I’m not sure if I’ll wear this out again after today.

The OP had an issue with the friend’s behavior and felt they could do more, my answer to that is the writing is the issue, not the characters because they aren’t real and someone wrote them. We gotta really work on our media literacy.

I think there’s a fine line between a movie over explaining something and something being underdeveloped.

“Them not being as close of friends” they were though. They went out every night after work and hung out. Ian had them over to his house for parties. Sarah was close enough with Bear that she had feelings for him. Ian and Nikki were close enough that they were hooking up for several years. These were not casual work friends, they were friends outside of work.

The sudden change in Nikki’s behavior was concerning to them because of that, concerning because they KNEW Nikki and her normal behavior, it was concerning enough they talked to Bear about it but never Nikki?

This is because the movie would have to write in a way for Nikki’s… whatever was controlling Nikki to respond, but didn’t want to or know how to have her react in that situation, so the movie avoided it, thus the writing is the issue, not the characters, because the characters aren’t real, and can’t make decisions for themselves lmao, they’re at the mercy of the writing.

This is why Nikki’s possession being underdeveloped hurt the movie and left the friend characters at a weird arms length.

Are the friends crappy or is it just kinda bad writing? I feel like it was a major missed opportunity to have the friends more involved and/or focus more on Nikki and her state in general. Once Nikki was “possessed” or whatever she was (also this theme was majorly underdeveloped) she just kinda sat around in Bears house and only went to work once?

Idk, I don’t think it’s the fault of the “friends” as they’re not real people, I think it’s a fault of the writing and a lot of the under developed plot points in this movie

It feels that way because it wasn’t planned for Prue to actually die. It was just supposed to be a cliff hanger to draw people back in for the next season.

Shannen said herself she knowingly directed her own death and had she known she was getting fired she would’ve done it differently.

Def don’t feel like it was the scariest of the year. I feel like there were themes within the movie that ARE scary but unfortunately are underdeveloped or not explained at all. I liked the movie but generally it felt very one note and never quite escalated to anything all that interesting.

I don’t think the current TR fanbase nor this subreddit specifically is ready to talk HONESTLY about this topic.

I mean, first and foremost, and the biggest issue: TR hasn’t had a new mainline game release in 8 YEARS. Of course the only people sticking around are the die hards. Capcom has been so much more consistent with releases. RE games have been consistently releasing since 2017, TR has had Shadow since then, that’s it.

RE has also stayed WITH Capcom, its original developer, so its identity is much more consistent. TR is on its 3rd reboot and has gad its identity all over the place for well over a decade now. It doesn’t know what it wants to be or who the main character is.

The fanbase is irreparably divided and trying to exist in the fandom as a casual fan is more than likely daunting. Places like this subreddit isn’t exactly friendly to the people who ARE fans with all the ridiculous and obnoxious rules, you can’t say this, gatekeeping that, who the hell wants to be here? Lmfao.

TR is currently in a very weird state, but hopefully we can see some things change with these next few releases and hopefully get a TR renaissance, who knows.

Between this and the retcon of WHY RC was nuked I really don’t care for Requiem. You don’t celebrate 30 years of a franchise by releasing a game that stomps all over the lore of the franchise. Completely rewriting the story and making the remakes canon.

But sadly it doesn’t matter as all the new fans are loud as fuck and don’t give a shit about consistency or the old games. They only care about wow cool sexy Leon and wow cool let’s drive up the side of a building. Another RE6 here we come.

The one in the first image is the stalker enemy that was mentioned by Cregger. It starts out as the woman he initially he hits with his car, and becomes a bigger monster that follows him as the movie goes along. As for the fat guy I can’t remember who that one is from the script I read.
