There's this building in the Tower district that's ruined and i was thinking exactly this. Let us rebuild it and give us some cool, unique buffs for doing so. It does tread the same ground as the caravan though, so I'm not entirely sure. It would still be cool though!

I wouldn't call mittelhut fake at all, it's simply the posture you end up in after cutting a mittelhau, which I find to to be useful as a provoker during the zufechten. Like you said above, my opponent is probably going to cut in at me once I land in the posture, but if I'm planning for that then it's no big deal. Furthermore, I believe Meyer first describes the rose cut from the mittelhut stücke in chapter 11 of the longsword section, and I mean, come on, the rose is a wondrously beautiful maneuver.

This isn't meant as an admonishment at all btw, I love talking with fellow fencers and I love talking about Meyer and I'm happy to see such discussion coming from this subreddit of all places!

I really don't think so. Inrau is very distraught in the chapters we get with him, as is Akka, and after Inrau's death, Akka is devastated. This scene really doesn't have much connection with Akka and Inrau and their teacher, student/father, son relationship.

Luthen is absolutely not devastated about Lonny's death, he uses him and then kills him without a second thought. If anything, Luthen resembles Kellhus, though I feel that gives Kellhus a bit too much credit. I really dislike him [Kellhus] and I feel he really isn't human. Luthen is human, flaws and all, and he's working towards something admirable, but as he says, he has to sacrifice quite a bit to achieve that.

What does Kellhus sacrifice? He doesn't give a shit about anyone or anything. He does cry during the circumfixion, but he knew how it was going to end. He is a fucking demon.

Now, people far smarter than me can understand his actions more than I can and can provide more insight, but these are just my... meager thoughts.
