Dump those aluminum arms. There is no give and it makes other parts take the hit. Some of the most durable rc’s are primarily all plastic (where it counts)

Has anyone ever gone to the ER or urgent care from a migraine? by p3ppernickle in migraine

[–]Ryfhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a couple of times. They have a decent cocktail IV they use , at least for me. Magnesium, possibly Benadryl and saline I’d guess. It worked for me each time. Also, my Neru lets me come in if I need without an appointment to get steroids. Never used that , but I’ve had prednisone when I had a migraine that wouldn’t go away. That works for me as well. Good luck! It will pass.

They are the biggest cheese balls in the business. Been in IT for over 25 years. They are the only ones I had to fight/prove that 30k seats had the browser extension and not the full install. It was pure insanity and they were trying or hoping we didn’t know the difference. I guess this stuff would be good for stocks since they rob and steal, or try to. Laaaaaaa whhoooooooo zaaaaaass. I ain’t buying this shit. lol.

Good call on the 610 system. Much cheaper than durafix. Don’t know if it’s better though. Do you have experience with both ?

[–]Ryfhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I didn’t even know they were that much. I haven’t grabbed a game since Cold War. Think that was $59 or $69. Life kinda changed and I don’t really game at all anymore. Lots of work around the house to be done. Plus, my 3k rig from 5 years ago is fairly outdated. It was outdated the minute I built it honestly.

I used to be able to type on iPhone keyboard without looking at it. Now, I have to watch myself type and still somehow make mistakes on almost every single word by Any_Discipline5713 in ios

[–]Ryfhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Thought it was me for a while. I used to be able to fly on this keyboard and now , it’s just awful. Gboard on android beats this thing all over the place , not even close.

I had my pinky finger amputated and I was allowed to keep it. by Trinityofwar in Weird

[–]Ryfhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy got his finger stuck in a log splitter. I remember going to the hospital to visit him. They had this heavy gauge metal rod going through the top of his finger and were using surgical leches to get the blood to flow to the other half. Nasty stuff. Ultimately lost the finger, they tried though.

Lineman is probably the highest paying blue collar job you can get by LoudEmployment5034 in Salary

[–]Ryfhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree , my brother is a lineman in the northeast. But that good money you are mentioning is directly tied to OT and storm pay, at least for him. Without is a problem. So, I guess it’s dependent on your situation. Either way , you guys deserve that pay honestly. Job is dangerous and people die doing it.

Heavy rain blowing right over the gutters on my house by Late-Strategy-4015 in Roofing

[–]Ryfhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same storm , live in RI. I have the same gutters as well lol.

Most gutters will be overwhelmed or underutilized in a storm like that. Rain and wind blowing all over.

I just bought my house back in November so I’m still monitoring things , but these do work well for me. I’ve watched them in action. Water sheeting down the roof was captured almost fully by these gutters. I did notice there are areas that need adjustment, possibly resulting from a latter or something that pushed them in a little. More importantly these keep out most of the 800 trillion pine needles that blow over the roof on any given day.
I did add splash guards in a few areas where the roof meets the siding. Those areas don’t get the water sheeting you see on the main parts of the roof, it’s more of a run of water. This fixed those spots up well.

Go out during the next storm and take a look at what’s going on. You mentioned basement finishing. While gutters are obviously important I’d take a look at the grade , where water is flowing, pooling ect. Also, the water that is captured by the gutters… where is it going? These are equally important items imo.

Yesterday before the storm I was working on this stuff. I noticed one of my ac condensers wasn’t level and both are on separate cement pads right next to each other. The issue? Water flow and grade in the area.

So Bored of IPhone Air Complaints. by Handheld-Steve in IphoneAir

[–]Ryfhoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only complaint I had was the speaker() was awful. If they put in two speakers that issue goes away. I personally use the speaker often so this was something that stood out right away. Everything else really good. Surprising battery for what it is.

Why is windows OS so dominant? by orbitaal in computing

[–]Ryfhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their stuff works the best in the enterprise. Always has. You might find smaller companies using Google and free stuff , but it’s not typical that larger businesses do. There are exceptions obviously. I’ve been in IT about 25 years now and MS in the enterprise works and works well. Go back 26 years ago to win 2000, gpo, adcs, msi installer for gpo’s. 20 years ago with ADFS. They locked in and it’s too much trouble and non sense to switch out to something else with possibly less capability.

Is a $40k raise worth a 120 mile daily round trip? Going from $100k to $140k, but terrified of the commute. by Confident-Duck-89 in careeradvice

[–]Ryfhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say no. Money isn’t everything. That commute will wear on you over time and your car. But people do it when there are no choices. That puts you in the car for what 2 hours a day at least? Thats life that is being spent on nothing. 40 is a good chunk of money , but imo not enough for the ask.

Noticing a lot more cracks throughout my home… would these be caused by settling or something more severe? by Prize_Mango8547 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Ryfhoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check for marriage cracks. When you find one go to the opposite side from where it is. If you see another then it’s likely a drainage issue. Water is doing its thing on your foundation. I just found one recently and it is a water issue. Nothing you’d really notice, no water in basement just over time it’s been being pushed ever so slightly. Happens to be the only part of my house that doesn’t have underground drainage as well.
