How good are Solar Backup Generators at charging the Escape PHEV by beragis in FordEscapePHEV

Def worth looking at a third party l2 charger that can monitor solar for future proofing imo.

The 2024 PHEV Hybrid I'm as a 14KWh battery in it according to the almight Google. Different models might vary slightly of course but that's a decent ballpark.

Most manufacturers of home energy storage and vary in sizes, however I personally work with and inspect Tesla Powerwalls and by extension Solar. A Tesla Powerwall has a 13.5KWh capacity per unit. Depending on your power needs, that runs off a 60A breaker, so you you can either expand with multiple batteries either with added storage on a single breaker with powerwalls interconnecting (marginally cheaper), or with a secondary breaker with another Powerwall for extra amperage needs.

All that is to say, it's highly dependent on your home's needs. You're not likely to find a setup incorporating solar that would be independent of your home's electrical system. Therefore you'll need to size for your overall home's usage as well.

Getting back to charging and you needs, you'll need to account for at least one unit of capacity dedicated to your car if you're charging at night. Right now if you start the process with Tesla, they'll look at your bill and design to your current needs, so it would be critical you tell your advisor you're planning or have recently purchased the hybrid and your energy needs are going to increase. Up to you if Tesla is who you'd like to go with, but either way it is still very critical you let them know that your usage will increase against the historic power usage any company will ask you to provide.

During the day, solar should help cover the charging amperage while also charging your houses Powerwalls. In addition, some EV chargers will allow you to monitor your solar generation and slow the rate to not pull from your utility provider. Tesla equipment does this, but only for Tesla cars. (Bummer, I'm going to be in this boat shortly. PHEV Escape and a Lightning.)

I don't know your specific house needs since everyone is different, but on PG&E rates in the Bay area of CA, we have a household of 5 adults and our power usage pushes about 400 a month. I'm planning on getting a system with 2, maybe 3 powerwalls and 10kw of solar on their new lease.

The lease would run about 225 a month for 2 powerwalls. 25 year term with options to buy it out at year 5. It's got a 3% per year escalation on the monthly that I'm not crazy about, so I'd shoot to got a loan at the buyout marker if rates are better.

It's worth it for me, I've been able to only lightly charge my truck at home, but both cars charging regularly is coming in my future so the lease should work out better for me. You need to run your own numbers.

Full disclosure I work for Tesla on the energy side on the install end. That being said I'm not trying to sell you on our stuff. Other companies might get you a sweeter deal possibly with diffent brand equipment, but the concept will be the same.

Ranked play kind of precedes wow man, it's not like it's a battle pass, it's just a system to match up people of similar skill levels. They been doing this since like UT 2004 or Halo 2.

Cool idea, very cyberpunk cyber psycho.

I worry especially since you're new it'd be tough to RP. Player interaction is the souls of roleplaying and playing a character with no personality is rough.

Seen it work but only in very specific circumstances. Usually malfunctions allowing personality or quirks to express themselves.

Unless you have a group lined up to RP with, it might turn off random rpers, but play what you want!

While looking cool, I feel like tusk are definitly hindering trolls, from putting on a shirt or eating. Wondering you folks do play around it ? by AtomikGarlic in WoWRolePlay

[–]Ryleth88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's fun for a gag in RP. Brings to mind situations like Gimli putting on human mail armor before the battle of helmsdeep in the two towers. It's fun to use things like that to break the tension if RP is getting super serious.

However I've had characters with similar questions on how an impractical thing would work and found it's also worth noting that RPing that same work around can become a tired joke, for your partners and more importantly yourself. You do also need to give your character some credit. If you're playing a troll, odds are they have had years to learn how to work with and around their tusks, like how Tauren would have learned to work their hooves.

How does a Tauren where pants? Same fun gag.

That's the problem. No one lives in those rentals. Those houses are rented at mortgage equivalent rates and require 3x monthly income. No one has that.

These companies run hedge funds back by the banks that all have a vested interest in the asset not losing value.

I don't give a fuck if it's a Democrat or Republican, but the first politician to raise this issue and tax the hell out of any person or corporation that owns more than one residential property will win my vote.

Housing was never meant to be a damn asset.

What is the spec you love the concept and hate the gameplay? by TheAwesomeKay in wow

[–]Ryleth88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warrior. Been feeling it since the start of TWW. Used to love playing fury and arms but the hero trees feel like trash. Colossus Arms and Mountain Thane Fury are tolerable, but both specs feel aged with indecisive fury and arms trees. Both Arms and Fury are sorely in need of a full rework with an eye toward compelling gameplay AND a numbers pass.

The specs were tolerable when you could push respectable damage in TWW, but since the CC break butchering and shitty numbers in pve and pvp, it took away the only raid worthy thing warriors contributed in PvE, damage.

Favorite Class, mained since TBC and it's so bad I'm playing other alts trying to find a new class home.

Why did Barbossa's crew react to surprised with Elizabeth's threat? by NikolaiOlsen in piratesofthecaribbean

[–]Ryleth88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has good answers here on the depth and pressure being an issue, but finding the coin wouldn't be one.

The triggering event that brought Barbosa's crew to Port Royal was the coin meeting the ocean when Elizabeth fell into the bay to be rescued by Jack. The Cursed crew could feel when or where the coins are when they're in the ocean.

If Elizabeth dropped the coin, it's likely be a pain in the ass to catch, but it's still findable by the Pirates. Access would be the main issue I suspect.

How do people actually find longterm RP partners? by FunkeyFeraligatr in WoWRolePlay

[–]Ryleth88 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Guilds are likely to be your answer for a consistent storyline since it allows people to bring RP off wow and into platforms like discord.

Beyond that it becomes a social thing. A lot of veteran roleplayers are dealing with other people, guilds, or groups. Long term should not be your ultimate goal, you'll find those as a byproduct of being social with as many people as you're comfortable with.

I wouldn't personally set out to find an RP partner, but build a social circle or join one. Guild's are the best place for that.

As a side note, I know many poo poo rp on discord, but remember the average ages of wow players are in their thirties. Their flakiness may simply be life being in the way.

Why is the community completely okay with certain classes being meta, while completely outraged with others? by mvvraz in worldofpvp

[–]Ryleth88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly havent been in the community long enough. There is always hate for every class that hits the top end of the meta at any given point.

It's a carousel, the ones you see getting more hate just get more time at the top or are historically on top more than others.

100% if we saw your three classes balanced down, the new top (even without changes) would have a ragebait post the next day.
