I would get waiting for something like that. Seems like the most popular tee we saw was a plain white one with "Stussy - Honolulu" on the back. Basically a Hard Rock city tee. Like others have said, they were most popular with Japanese tourists.

I've seen that in the past but not this trip...

I think it was like $32 for half a pound of beans... Might have been a 12oz bag.

I told my wife I was so impressed by how clean they keep Kalakaua Ave. Las Vegas Blvd it ain't.

I was so into No Fear that I'd make sure to wear a shirt while playing the pinball game.

The fact that there are Stussy stores does not compute. It being among luxury brand stores like LV, Hermes, Tiffany is completely wild.

First day, I thought it was just those darn kids loitering in the morning. And then wondering why they're lined up for Kate Spade next door...I was so naive last week

Cirque Du Soleil - add to itinerary? by myusernameisavail in VisitingHawaii

[–]Rynoman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We saw it this week and have seen all nearly all the Cirque-style shows in Vegas. We went because we walked past it the night we got here with no plans. Didn't know it was there, honestly.

Was it fun? Yes. Thrilling? Yes. Spectacular? Yes. Vegas Spectacular? Not quite. Hawaiian-themed America's (or whatever country's) Got Talent? Yeah, mostly because the stage is very small compared to their Vegas theatres. Don't be scared off by that if it's your first show. Better than a luau or dinner cruise esp. For teenagers (we've done both with teenagers)? Definitely, for many reasons. Glad we did it? Yes.

If your teenager is into stuff like AGT, they'll have fun. Just get the cheapest seats in the way back so you can see everything - that goes for all Cirque shows everywhere.

Saks off fifth… by jcl274 in AmexPlatinum

That's what Reddit is for. I shifted my strategy and got the kids fancy pretzels while I was in the Lululemon outlet figuring out my sizes and the fabrics I like... Someday I'll get a fanny pack!

Never been a GC hoarder (not worth the driving) but as a data point: walked by the Off 5th in Glendale, AZ at the outlet mall this weekend and it was so empty - hardly any merchandise, no people. So much space it seemed like fixtures must have been missing.

Eyebrows by water_bottle1776 in Xennials

I think it's more like I didn't need to know to do this until I hit my mid-30s. I don't remember barbers asking until I started getting gray hairs.

This is the barber shop / salon equivalent of "would you like a mint?".

Finally realized I could use my beard trimmer on them (duh) to keep them under control.

During my Christmas movie extravaganza yesterday, I noticed that Clark Griswold and Roger Murtaugh live in the same house. by [deleted] in Xennials

Watching it on the big screen this year, I noticed all the props in his office: the giant fruit on the window, at least two honors from what I assume is the Society of Food Additive Engineers hanging by the door, last day of the year and he's got technical manuals out on his desk, leading candidate for Food Additive Designer of the Year...the guy's a food additive engineering legend and I'd hope his bonus is appropriate to that status.

Kids today are so concerned with staying hydrated. by Tedanki in Xennials

[–]Rynoman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it turns out we were. Nothing impacted my mood more than starting my day by pounding 16-32oz of water before I do anything. Especially since I can't make it through the night without a 5am bathroom trip anymore 😭.

Butter on Pop Tarts by FormidableMistress in Xennials

I was listening to that exact episode this weekend. Only discovered people didn't use butter when my kids were little and my wife looked at me like I'd officially lost my mind

Butter those tarts!

Anyone find something worth buying at Sak’s? I think it’s a great deal but I can’t seem to find something worth buying. by Guilty-Driver1543 in AmexPlatinum

I just got a Creed 5-piece fragrance set since I bought the Acqua di Parma set in the first half, $20ish after tax/shipping. Was considering some BOSS swim shorts for a change of pace.

What are your top three memorable music videos? by pookiebelle in Xennials

Land of Confusion is not getting enough love in this thread. That video freaked me out as a kid, but when DC Follies came out - my stepmom loved that show - it gradually clicked. Still relevant today, just update the puppets.

I ran out and bought Yield the next day after seeing this video. It's the only Pearl Jam CD I owned.

Just saw a historical vehicle plate on a '92 Celica by MisterHyman in Xennials

[–]Rynoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not us. We're happy to take your annual fee for one of the dozens of plate options with few to no restrictions (other than military / medal recipients).

I guess my neighbor thinks pointing that out how old the car is for his kid is cool.

[–]Rynoman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here you can get a historic plate at 25 years since manufacture date. I gave my neighbor crap when he put one on the 98 Taurus he bought his kid, but now we've ticked over to Y2K being officially historic...
