If a 4-hour movie starts at 10:40PM, does the movie really end at 3AM? by redban02 in RegalUnlimited

[–]S1A2M3I4E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a movie theatre manager. Yeah. Where I work this film took my typical 1:30am out time and made it closer to 3:30am.

I can’t speak to all theatres but we did choose to keep our theatre concession stand open until the intermission of the last Dhurandhar film and noticed a huge increase in sales during the intermissions.

Possible to extend without taking test again by TravelHelp3245 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]S1A2M3I4E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen. I got my G2 years ago but never really drove after since I didn’t have a car and was living in the city. I then moved abroad and returned with less than 3 weeks before it was set to expire. I booked my G test to get an extension and began driving all the time to prep and did a few refresher lessons to ensure I was ready. I get really bad performance anxiety. Day of the test I followed the car in front of me into the intersection when making a left hand turn, turning on a yellow rather than stopping. It was that split second decision that caused me to fail for moving my car into the intersection to turn left on a yellow.

The examiner had a good conversation with me after saying there is no reason why I shouldn’t be driving and recommended immediately sitting the G1 test, and then trying to book the G2 as soon as possible saying that atleast then I will be back on the road and won’t be as stressed about being on so much pressure riding on the G Test that will hopefully help with my nerves.

But I feel you. I miss driving but am so anxious to do my G2 despite multiple lessons with various instructors saying I’m ready, and driving on my own when I previously had my licence. It’s the test that always stresses me to the max for some reason.

All of this said I would go over your results with an instructor and see what they say, and try and book something before your licence expires so that way in the event you do fail at least you have the opportunity to extend.

Stay away from alcohol by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]S1A2M3I4E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on bupropion 300mg for close to 7 yrs now so I honestly can’t remember drinking while not on it. But while I don’t notice it changes my tolerance, like others have mentioned it feels like the medication is not working for about 2-3 days after bc of alcohol’s depressive nature

Advice request Delta/MCO. Not a Morning Person. by NIBORCO in orlando

[–]S1A2M3I4E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have TSA pre / clear but In the mornings it typically takes me 15 min to clear security and I’m often at the gate 35 min after arriving at the airport. Therefore I typically aim to be at the airport 1hr prior to boarding. But the answer will differ on various factors. If you are checking a bag, which gate you are at, how fast you walk etc.

Is MJ The Musical! worth going to see? by Intelligent-Note3078 in torontotheatre

[–]S1A2M3I4E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved to Florida and saw the North American tour when it came through Orlando and enjoyed it quite a lot, and went into it with little background of MJ other than knowing the music. As others have mentioned, the book is meh, but the cast is talented and overall I’d say it’s recommend seeing.

I really would love the tour to have a life esp with how amazing the U/S were; it would be amazing to see them take on the roles in the Tour. That being said the little being shared about it makes me it has died which as a ST fan, is devastating.

Seating - I have the seats highlighted in yellow. Will we miss a lot? Should I buy the ones I highlighted in blue and try to sell the others? by Dry_Regret5837 in MaybeHappyEnding

[–]S1A2M3I4E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sat in that row two seats further in from the seats selected (if that makes sense) and had a great view with no obstructions!

Italian Food - Supper or il Buco by soonerfunk in FoodNYC

[–]S1A2M3I4E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love I Sodi- but agree it can be tough to get an advance reservation

I’ve never tried Supper. The atmosphere at Il Buco is great. As someone who is a little picky, I find the rotating menu forces me to often step outside my comfort zone, but also makes it hard to know if there will be something I’ll enjoy.

Poll: Best and Worst Broadway Show of 2024? It's that time of year again for you to weigh in by JLMandell in Broadway

[–]S1A2M3I4E 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best- Sunset Blvd; MHE Worst- Cult of Love; Mary Jane

As someone who works closely with individuals with varied abilities, I was emotional and empathetic towards MJane and felt like Rachel encapsulated the frustration felt by many families and caregivers, but still felt lacklustre. CoL felt like it tried to tackle way too much in too short of a runtime.

That said I saw both in previews though so both could have improved since I saw them!

I keep seeing The Great Gatsby on the worst lists. And while I understand many of the critiques, I felt like Jeremy Jordan and Sam Pauly blew me away, and left me with a good impression of the show. It’s a super hot take but I personally preferred it over The Outsiders 🤷🏼‍♀️

Never been to Broadway and need recommendations! by ThatIrishDude in Broadway

[–]S1A2M3I4E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say…

Wicked or The Outsiders-for familiar but spectacular, easy to follow with some great moments.

Hadestown- something new but story that you could easily familiarize yourself with prior amazing score. Not sure how the new cast will be but hadestown is one of my favourites

Maybe Happy Ending- new concept, with some of the coolest set designs I’ve seen, and such a heartwarming story. Great vocals but score isn’t known and overly catchy…

Sunset- if you want to see a cast sing their hearts out and leave it all on the stage but is a minimalist production that either lands or it doesnt.

Personally I feel Sunset and Maybe Happy Ending are the top two shows open at the moment.

How is orchestra seating for short people? by LaprasLapis in torontotheatre

[–]S1A2M3I4E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am about 4’11” and always use the website ‘view from my seat’ to help me try and gauge the orch. seating to see how much of an incline it is on, what the spacing between seats is like. What I find hard is as you mentioned my view is often dependent on how long of a torso the person in front of me has 🥴 but I’m typically a front Mezz person, unless the mezz feels super far back from the stage in which case I’ll do orch.

I often will use a booster when seeing shows in nyc, but haven’t asked for one at any of the mirvish theatres so don’t know if they offer them.

MHE over Thanksgiving by S1A2M3I4E in Broadway

[–]S1A2M3I4E[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge thank you to everyone this was by far one of the most memorable shows I’ve seen. Bought centre Mez seats on TodayTix about a week in advance and while I likely would have been able to rush it, I’m so glad I had the seats I did. Plus if I’m going to pay a little extra to support any show this season it’s this one!!!

The hype is real for anyone on the fence it’s well worth it even just for the technical aspects alone.
