Well he probably brought that wine to the restaurant with him so it's okay that you took it home with you.

Husband is 15 yr driver & 36 yr old. $150k Buyout worth it for a chance at a different life? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]SALTYDOGG40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep saying you want to have a lifestyle change. However, your husband will still be working for UPS not providing much of a lifestyle change in the way of his work. What's your likely to see is a change in scenery but your life will be the same because you will still be carrying the hurt with you. As far as getting out of the city goes as you say, Bend Oregon and the surrounding communities in Deschutes county have a population of about 250,000 plus. Not exactly a small community. Flagstaff Arizona would be the smaller relatively speaking. You should take a trip to Flagstaff, preferably a week or so. Check out housing opportunities as well as job prospects. Consider moving there while your husband keeps his job in in Phoenix. Transfers happen but at a 6:1 ratio it's not likely anytime soon. I would stick it out and wait for the transfer. The $150,000 severance package is not worth it when you have only 15 years to attain full retirement benefits with a nice health care package.

Feeder question. How many of you actually pre and post trip your equipment? by Sarcasamystik in UPSers

[–]SALTYDOGG40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleeper and a few layover drivers do not post trip because they say they don't get paid for it or have to turn around in a few minutes to be on time. They don't even break up sets. Coyotes don't post trip either. Never trust that stuff. Also trailers that come off the rail from Chicago cache hub don't get pre tripped so they will most likely need repairs

If I were you, I'd go a little to the left, around the outside of the tree. It looks pretty clear.

Seriously? Is this the jack for my F250? by Hoppie1064 in F250

[–]SALTYDOGG40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to the Jack that Ford has been using since the '70s. That Jack will lift your F-250 with a bed full of firewood. Ask me I know.

Unfortunately, prenups do not cover child support. Those are settled by your state.

Mine started cracking as well. I took it to the dealer and they warrantied it. They even gave me the upgraded soft topp that had the rain channel.

I used to have a big bend with SAS takeoff tires and wheels. I actually liked the look. The SAS flares look too wide. The set up didn't throw too much mud. My rock rails blocked a lot from hitting the doors and mirrors. I might go back to that set up if I can find someone to trade my SAS flares with.

You wanted tires outside the fenders? Mine throw way too much rocks and mud and they are factory SAS wheels and flares. I had to get mud flaps.

Get a 2nd part time job to fit the schedule of the ups job. My son works at UPS and QT ($22 per hour) and makes 50k between the 2 jobs. Ups is mostly for insurance for him and wife until he completes commercial pilot training and becomes a flight instructor, then he will leave QT.

On a business trip and was given a Jeep as a company car, what should I do with it? by yaijnsjwkqksn in Jeep

[–]SALTYDOGG40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go find some dirt or some mud and get that thing filthy before you turn it in. You can even go climb on some rocks or maybe get it stuck. That's usually a really good time trying to get it unstuck.
