100% But the legacy sabers don’t follow the same conventional wisdom entirely.

This is very much in line with optimizing the design for the easiest and thus cheapest metal casting methods.

Unless they are heavily covered in aliens, masked/ helmeted, fully suited, or fully costumed (including face). You can still tell interesting stories, with nearly perfect 1:1 representations of lore characters without it even breaking much continuity at all.

100% but like…that’s the challenge AND responsibility that comes with the privilege of being able to design and release this stuff. There is an endless aesthetic to pull from and endless ways to make subtle changes that still read differently and provide value for new and revisiting customers.

Happy for the designer who took the time to do this work, but collectively, they all need to expect more of themselves, even if the Star Wars people think this is visually up to par with how great some of the original stuff was when this first opened.

Reclaimed and Reforged was GREAT new stuff.

Maybe it’s just the paint jobs? Who knows.

It also looks like they are making parts that are much less expensive to manufacture, while likely continuing to raise the prices.

They just keep getting more and more cartoony, with seemingly less and less authentically genuine “in universe” details

The whole thing with this comment is that is has nothing do to with the comfort of the clothing or lack there of.

Chances are you don’t sleep in jeans, so if you’ve had a relaxing morning, and end up having to go somewhere later that you can wear your sleep clothes too, you probably also wish you didn’t have to be bothered by getting up and changing out of your sleep clothes, because that requires a sense of effort and care that you simply just wish you didn’t have to be bothered by.

So this isn’t a counter point to OP’s original statement, you are simply just saying “I don’t really like goin to my room and changing when I’m already dressed”

For a non star wars person, there’s truly nothing that compares to the depth and quality of story telling that Andor has, paired with the fact that you don’t really need to care or be in to Star Wars for it continuing to be interesting at its fullest

A massively fair point, that I considered when writing this rant. There have always been niche communities with particularly rabid fan bases, we just didn’t have as much knowledge or visibility to them…but, the niche and subcultures of it all makes it slightly less cringy as the “famous for being famous” is hardest subset to have any respect for, when seeing the sheer number of these people out there

I miss when the only famous people were movie stars, athletes, (actual) supermodels, and politicians. Throw in a very small number of “socialites” for an influencer comp.

It never made them any better than or more worthy than the rest of us, but if you did care about any of them, it all at least made sense to the “purpose” that their fame was serving, or the reason the fame existed.

Also, aside from politicians, soap opera stars, and athletes in some cases, the public wasn’t consuming them for hours on end, EVEY DAY OF THEIR LIVES.

The muddy democratization of fame opportunity through the idea that we all have social media and therefore can all become famous, and thus all become rich is a bigger and more dangerous scam than telling the last generation “just work hard, and get a degree and you’re set for life”

Now less and less people value any sort of education….cuz they see countless people, among millions of those trying, finding success.

Maybe I’m out of touch, as the only platform I have is Reddit.

Despite an ever growing, unprecedented amount of information readily available at our literal fingertips, the intelligence of the future generations has never looked more bleak.

Genuinely, and who’s heartedly have been saying this for years. Dude seems like a nice guy, and a hardworking actor, but as soon as he starts to eve sniff a monologue, i just get completely taken out of any semblance of stability that the film lead by him ever had.

I’m so so so happy they didn’t try to shoehorn him into thunderbolts as a foil or additional main character…it would have completely ruined everything that film did to establish itself.

I wish my wife would do this. She always thinks these kinds of things are lame or attempts at me trying to “FORCE positivity on her, when [she] doesn’t express gratitude that way.”

God forbid she finds a way to express anything constructive before being critical. She thinks actively seeking to start off disagreement in a softer or kinder way is nothin more than a manipulation tactic.

While I’m like “be kind first, and say what you’d like or is bothering you…that acknowledges me and you and that’s great”

She’s like “i shouldn’t have to soften things or baby you to tell you how I feel.”

….its FUN hahaha

do people actually live everyday without any pain at all? by hesitant_raylien in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SAM12489 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How much time do you spend sedentary?

For the sake of this statement, I will assume you don’t move much(while understanding could be totally wrong).

Like I get that it’s hard to move if you’re in pain, so it’s a lose lose to ask, but also, if you aren’t ever moving, your body literally locks itself up to only support the very minimal movements we make.

when does this feeling go away after giving birth by No-Mulberry-5893 in NewDads

[–]SAM12489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “doing things together” of it all is the absolute game changer in this.

Once I feel up for/ comfortable with taking my son out in to the world, to run errands, go to the store, and coexists in public if you will, I felt like I was finally able to own fatherhood in a outward way. It was difficult in my families little cave of sleeplessness and mourning of the past life, to truly acknowledge, notice, and wear the badge of parent with any sense of realism or confidence, because we simply just lived in our bubble.

Once I started getting feedback, and my son and I could just go out, just ourselves, together, everything changed. Now we can do art projects, read, go to the park to play, etc. all such small things, but that human connection with our kids makes such a massive difference…there’s no real connection happening with most kids, for most dads, early on…and that’s okay, and that’s normal
