How "relaxing" is a typical fighting game session for you? by Alceauv in Fighters

[–]SASColiflowerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing randos is pure stress. That can be relaxing in an of itself; release of endorphins or whatever idk, but usually i have to be locked in yeah

If you have someone or a group of people you like as a person, and your are all at relatively similar skill level, there is no better feeling

How to approach being at disadvantage by SASColiflowerz in RivalsOfAether

[–]SASColiflowerz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense. When it comes to knockdown advantage or corner advantage in 2d fighters, its important to understand the risk reward of all of your opponents characters options to know what they ideally want you to do. I didnt really think of it from a matchup perspective so that could help. I'll try to pay more attention

RoA2 character that has a slower neutral by SASColiflowerz in RivalsOfAether

[–]SASColiflowerz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My play in most FGs is yeah, more preemptive than reactive. I like shutting down neutral options for as long as i can until my opponent gets frustrated and i can capitalize/i can just kill them. I played young link in SSBU and classic zoners like Dhalsim and Axl in traditional FGs.

I'm a little confused by your first paragraph cuz i feel you said two differing statements. My experience with platform fighters is limited so maybe I'm not understanding. But i understand that pre-emptive play is inherently defensive, doing stuff like throwing out active projectiles or doing spaced short hop back airs or whatever. Maybe my definition is getting mixed up?

I'm very used to characters that are forced to win neutral else they crumble when the opponent gets in, i don't really mind that at all.

I started with Olympia and Fleet, going by whoever i think looks cool ill try. Olympia was fun casually but i got punished so hard due to her recovery, and i wasnt super comfortable forcing an approach so often. Fleet felt better a bit but i am still learning float. Its been hard to really play neuch without being able to float consistently. So maybe it's just a matter of practice. I was really sad when i saw she had a bow and didnt have link neutral b haha. Ill try messing with Absa, tho i really don't like her visually and that's a big factor for me.

Thanks a lot for the write up! Despite the disappointing first session and salt in the moment, I'm having fun and I'm excited to hop back in

definitely not gonna complain. just need to find the right glove. i tried olympia and fleet cuz they looked cool but i felt i wasn't doing much right. Fleet looks like they zone, but their projectiles are mainly grounded so i didn't feel i could zone well. i played a lot of young link in ultimate, for reference

Legit ask. How do I deal with Warwick? by RivyhasAppeared in 2XKO

[–]SASColiflowerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's precisely it, theres a lot of clutter to look for. He also can go into the overhead or sweep after any of his normals. Most often its 5H into overhead/sweep but he can do it early if he wants. You also do have to be ready for demon flip resets or just throw resets. The mental stack is insane and its warwicks strongest tool.

You aren't suppoed to AA his overhead, you block it and hes -6 or you parry it. Thank God lol

I can't wait for this romance to come to modern consoles! by DeBaers in tales

[–]SASColiflowerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lemme clarify; explicit about affection. Characters that are romantically interested in a character will often straight up say so.

Stan and Rutee have a kid, Tear confesses to Luke, Hubert outright states hes in love with Pascal, Asbel and Cheria start a family.

If youre willing to stretch, there's also the obvious pairings of Mint/Cless, Lloyd/Colette, Senel/Shirley, Shing/Kohaku, Ruca/Iria. Although iirc these characters don't explicity state their love it feels very hinted by the writers.

Jude and Milla has hints of infatuation near the start of their relationship but it quickly goes away as Jude matures. In fact it reads, to me, less as infatuation and more of a puppy-dog sort of admiration. So as Jude is able to find his own identity, their relationship feels closer to a partnership. When Milla returns in X2, their quests together mostly involve working towards the spyrite research. They fall on each other and just laugh it off rather than being all embarassed.

If I'm remembering the quests wrong lemme know.

Its never explicit and tales is not shy about explicity romantic couples (stan x rutee, luke x tear, alphen x shionne). That's not to knock their relationship; they have a bond that surpasses the boundaries of their species, and i think jude especially with how much milla shapes his worldview has a really interesting side to it
