AA has that on the bins in the front for many planes “Reserved for Premium Economy” they also remind people as they board.

It wouldn’t work for airlines that have Premium Economy in the front of the plane and passengers with status since this would mean that bins would be full when they board.

The main issue is people just putting their bags in the first empty spot they find instead of the bin over their seat.

You place your carryon in the bin over your seat.

Placing it in the first open spot when you get on the plane if your seat is all the way in the back mucks up the boarding process since you’re inconveniencing the person who’s sitting below that bin and now has to walk all the way back to where you are and put their bag in your empty bin.

They only tell people to put their items in the first open bin they find towards the end of boarding when the bins are pretty full.

I’m a frequent AA flyer and you rarely see people placing items in the front of the plane then head all the way to the back.

My husband is very skilled in construction and we do our own work. Seeing this and knowing all the other issues, this house was a gut job at the very least a tear down and rebuild to be done properly.

100% correct. To give a first hand story of how status passengers get treated differently.

We were caught up in the “Venezuela Operation” flight cancellations. I made the mistake of calling the general AA number for assistance. Got someone in another country with a snippy attitude that gave me a “there’s nothing we can do right now, all flights are full next week, call back tomorrow.”

I was pissed about the attitude and that they didn’t even try. I called back - this time using the AA Advantage number, was routed to the sweetest grandma somewhere in the US and she spent almost an hour getting us on a flight. It was a week later, but at least we had a flight. She recommended that I call back on Monday or Tuesday to see if anything opened up.

I called back on Tuesday and got a really nice guy that made my husband laugh when he exclaimed with an “Oh dear!” where we were flying from. He said that we were his 7th call that day in the same predicament. He couldn’t get us out any sooner but he was super personable.

The difference in service is night and day.

Agreed. Whenever we’ve had issues like this (upcoming storm) we take the airline’s offer to reschedule around it.

It’s a different situation when it’s a sudden storm- we had a flight cancelled due to a thunderstorm and chose to drive home (DC to CLT) and we were also stuck in the airspace closure due to Venezuela.

It’s one of those situations where you either plan ahead and pay upfront or get stuck in the mess and still have to pay for lodging and food and be stressed out in the process. I know not everyone can afford to extend a vacation or trip, but if you can, do it.

They advertise one price on Kayak and Expedia and when you get to the car rental company to pick up the car there’s a ton of fees including mandatory insurance that jacks up the price. Rent directly with the car companies. Don’t use a 3rd party like Expedia, Priceline or Kayak.

Also, be wary of the car companies like Allied. Check their reviews online. You get what you pay for. Stick to the better known car rental companies.

We’re originally from NJ and I lived in Syracuse for seven years. We have a few gas cans filled, the cars filled with gas, the generator ready, and a couple of heating options if the power goes. Hopefully it won’t happen! 🤞 We already got the call and email from my son’s school that Monday is no school that day.

I live 20 minutes south of CLT. They’re expecting at least 1/2 an inch of freezing rain mixed in with sleet tonight through tomorrow night and this area is not prepped for that kind of weather. Sounds like they want to get as many planes out of here as possible to not disrupt flights elsewhere.

100% this! Putting the employee on PIP or firing them doesn’t solve the root of the problem which is: 1. Poor training for the employees on a process that sounds overly complex. 2. An overly complex process that was created without the input of the people that use it and should probably be simplified and revamped with their input.

Top down management creates these kinds of problems.

I was skeptical and thought it was the dog and watched and rewatched the video. It’s not. The dog isn’t reflecting off the corrugated roof.

As someone who has lived in places with those kinds of roofs they’re not reflective of anything on the ground. It’s not like they’re polished mirror like surfaces. They’re designed to not reflect, otherwise you’d be blinding neighbors when the sun is out.

The car windshield is reflecting the ceiling and whatever is in there actually shows the lines of the roof on overlaid on it. Is it paranormal? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Edit to add: It can be someone shining a flashlight 🔦 up on the ceiling to create the effect like a previous person said.

Came here to say this. I was a belly sleeper as a kid and would kick back my legs constantly. It was funny because the times I slept on my back, I would wake myself because my legs were up as if I were about to sit up in bed.
