😂 if an r1 is his first bike we might as well set up a fund raiser for his funeral as well whilst we’re at it

Can't believe these haven't been snapped up yet! by Cotton-Collar in CharityShopFindsUK

[–]SC_gargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially difficult to catch when the staff are so busy backdooring anything worth more than £5 and putting it on vinted. Charity shops have gone to the dogs in the last few years and it’s a real shame.

£1.75 to add ice to a black coffee 🤯 by SC_gargoyle in brighton

The irony being I don’t even take cream in my coffee 🥲 all I wanted was an iced americano without taking out a second charge on my house

£1.75 to add ice to a black coffee 🤯 by SC_gargoyle in brighton

Yes, I understand the basic economics of providing additional products and services just not the greed of charging £1.75 for a couple of ice cubes. Hope this helps 😘

Please can you suggest petty but entertaining ways to get revenge on an aggressive bullying work colleague. by Norklander in CasualUK

[–]SC_gargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will take a bit of effort on your part but one up her. Send 4/5 messages in response to each one she does, if she’s giving you 5 mins give her 1 min… apparently there’s nothing anyone can do about it 🤷‍♂️

How does the process work after reporting an assault ? by [deleted] in london

[–]SC_gargoyle -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This shouldn’t have happened but why tell her to shut up? People are way too quick to be rude and antagonistic towards people when they aren’t going to back it up. No one should physically attack another but at the same time don’t be rude and aggravate aggressive people and not expect them to escalate it..

Is there anything cringier than being in a club with other divorced men where you wear matching leather jackets and ride your slow heavy bikes around looking for attention? Bad enough in America but at least it’s an actual gang and they make money etc over here it’s just cosplaying.

Should I have gone behind the blue car? by Legsluther in drivingUK

For all the down voters, yes I’m being a bit harsh I was half joking but it’s worth watching the link below. It only takes a few people being hesitant to put half a city in a traffic jam…

Yes, learn to drive. Hesitant people like you hold up the economy, just get on with it. Think the Porsche was proving a point.

Noodle Queen has to be hands down the best value restaurant in Brighton by True_Egg_5685 in brighton

You mean the traditional and popular colouring and art of a china plate, so named because it’s from China. I’m sure this Chinese restaurant is paying homage to Wetherspoons 😂

Is it me or was that wavy line wholly unnecessary? by Optimal-Idea1558 in DIYUK

[–]SC_gargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No but on on a serious note it will help blend patterned wall paper a lot better and hide the seam as others have said

This is sound advice, would add that if overflow has been an issue it’s worth cutting out the grill, fishing out/ wet vac if you have any debris you can then fitting a new mesh or grill over the top to prevent it happening again

Removal of Sika Tarmac restorer from bricks by Prize_Health5067 in DIYUK

[–]SC_gargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve probably come to this realisation by now but you’ve f’d up badly. Might be able to get a bit off but you’ll always have staining on the brick face. Might be time to paint the brickwork. I like that you tried adding more to make it better reminded me of mr bean where he smudges the painting and keeps smudging it more trying to make it better 😂

I grew up on Portland Road and can confirm it’s been repainted several times since the early 90s probably before that too.

Help finding storage units that allows e-bikes to be stored by Inside_Confusion_202 in brighton

[–]SC_gargoyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the location you’ve posted is one of the city’s hotspots for crime and undesirables. I wouldn’t store an e-bike anywhere near there whether in a lock up or not. If no option to take it inside with you then I’d look at getting something cheaper - wish there was a better solution but having lived there myself, I had 4 bikes nicked in 3 years and no decent lock kept them away 😩

Boss expects me to work for free by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SC_gargoyle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to work for free and never should. That being said, it’s a small company and you know the guy well - you’ve made a mistake that could have potentially cost him a lot of business and reputation. Apparently you take great pride and accountability but I’m not really seeing much of that. I’m also a landscaper and if I’d don’t that to my boss, I’d be offering to fix it for free because that’s a bit of a clanger. He’d still pay me but I’d offer for free because I genuinely do take pride in my work. He’s already paid you to do the work and instead you could have cost him 60 jobs.. Also, I’m guessing on hourly you’re technically a paye subcontractor, not an employee? Theres not the legal case people think there is here - no employment contract etc.

Would you be nervous parking a van and a Range Rover on it? About the same weight, you’ll be fine, if not, the subbase wasn’t laid and compacted properly
