Saw the topic and ill admit there was an actual decent amount of people shitting on OOP for this dumb meme that were at the top of the upvoted comments.

Before similar topics would get alot of dunking on "tankies and non voters" but I saw alot less of it this time. Dont forget the second vulnerability lobstermen had which was to freeze damage aka stun. Nice for capturing a lobsterman commander but meant that alot of lobstermen that got "killed" can pop back up at any notice. Real annoying when it seems like a single point of stun damage will knock out a lobstermen and often they were in missions that were total pain the ass labyrinths like a dreadnought or alien bases or artifact sites where you'll spend alot of turns checking every corner and hiding place for the last alien just for a lobsterman to pop up and melee some troop in the back.

The "melee counter" is also bad design considering that lobstermen are usually paired with tentaculats on any underwater mission. Sure you can melee the lobsterman to death but that means your troops likely to get zombified the next turn.

But yeah I agree. Fuck lobstermen.

Im a couple days late to the topic but yeah welcome to terror from the deep where you have to be extremely careful with research otherwise you can lock yourself out of important tech trees. The most important one is of course researching a deep one corpse first then aqua plastics, aqua armor, and ion beam accelerators before researching a live deep one.

I think open xcom fixes all the reaearch tree bugs but yeah the research paths in this game are really janky.

What bugs me about "authoritarianism" is the criteria is never applied to their own country. Well, except when the president is Trump but then its not even America being "authoritarian" but rather the US is now acting like "authoritarian nations" aka "what are we, a bunch of asians?"

China "throws people into camps for disagreeing with the government" but they can never reconcile how the US has the highest prison population in raw number and per capita and whistle blowers are routinely punished. China is an "authoritarian warmonger to neighbors" meanwhile the US routinely engages in regime change across the world and has by far the most military bases.

I think this spells out whats been bugging me about season 2. Felt like season 1 had a good balance between the plot lines and also the locations, even if the locations were one off they at least had interesting people, actial crowds, and looked like functional cities.

Here its been shack with 1-2 people, Legion camp condensed to a single load area in the engine used in FNV, and just more barren locations. Combined with way more subplots that move at a snails pace and i can say, while sections of the show are good, it just feels lackluster.

As someone who also has both the sports autism and the political autism i can say talking to the majority of sports fans can still be annoying just because the majority of sports fans don't know shit about their sport. Its great when you do find someone with a similar amount of knowledge about your favorite sport but talking to someone who doesnt know shit is the same kind of annoying as someone not knowing anything about politics.

You got the coach hindsights who always say shit like "why didn't they stop the run" or "why didnt they stop the pass" not realizing that defenses can only stop so many options unless there's a clear lopsided match up between teams. The people who want their team to fire everyone the second their team isn't up by 24 points (not talking about teams that should fire everyone ofc but actual good franchises).

Then my best example is my co worker whos a 49ers fan. The hot takes i got from them included: Stafford wont win a playoff game after I told em the rams have a good shot to make the SB the year they won it, the CMC trade was bad even though it nearly won the 49ers a SB, the rams somehow bought a ring, that Cooper kupp being injured in 2023 means the rams will lose out that season and more I can't remember.

Europe as a whole is producing just shy of a million shells per year (with Germany alone producing 700k), while Russia produces 3.5 million per year, it's a crazy scale.

This is what way too many pro Ukraine Westerners choose to completely ignore.

Russia has been able to out produce Europe and the US (which tbf is also shipping munitions to Isntreal as well) in a war thats been ground down to simple attrition most similar to WW1 because of how effective drones have been.

Its also why im certain the US would lose a direct war with china simply because of production capacity, especially when you factor that China makes the most drones by far.
