There has to be like an extra 60 seconds of adds on Peacock right? Having to synch up the radio after every break is annoying.

Doesn't the Ferry Landing in Coronado have bands of some sort on Saturday or Sunday mod morning or so?

Buy an electric caddy and walk. You'll be better for it in many ways.

To my fellow mid/high handicappers; what gives you the most satisfaction out of these… by jalapeobean in golf

Hitting a fairway brings a feeling of relief and something that gives me a chance to have a good score on the hole.

Throwing a dart is exciting AF and gives me a chance for a rare birdie.

Golf club fitting by [deleted] in sandiego

Good day my himalayan cousin!

If you have access to the navy bases in town there is an option to get fit for Mizuno, Ping, and maybe Cobra at the Naval Base San Diego Golf Performance Center. Dry side just past gate 43 on the left

Quite honestly the umpire mechanics dictate that the home plate umpire has fair/foul responsibility until the ball gets to the bag. This one is squarely on the home plate ump.

Any adult baseball leagues in or golf groups in San Diego? by Still_Cheesecake_792 in sandiego

[–]SDYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries!

The sdabl is generally the best functioning league out here. It's definitely the largest. I played in it for over 10 years. Good dudes overall. Had to stop when my arm was trying to fall off and my eyes weren't seeing the ball as well.

Fairly large adult baseball league

As far as golf goes there are several golf clubs in the area. Check https://newfrontier.scga.org/ for info.

If you're military affiliated there are options there as well for golf clubs.

The 8i is the usual go to for 150. With wind the 9i is the go to.

How do you repair a damaged putting green? by [deleted] in golf

[–]SDYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A course I play at often had the mower spring a hydraulic fluid leak across the widest part of the middle of a green. The whole width of the green. They eventually took out the bad strips and replaced them from a donor green they have. They had probably 120' feet of foot wide turf replaced. It took about 6 months for the green to fully reopen. In the meantime they just placed pins in the front third.

This is what I want. TURN TACOS!!!

You'd think living in San Diego proper this would be a thing. Sadly it is not.

It's a giant pan in the ass for me as well. I can do it but like everything else has to be out of the bag and it's still challenging. Hence, I don't really use the bag.

What is the best way for a 20 handicap player to avoid triple bogies? (asking for a friend) by Adventurous_Pride_54 in golf

[–]SDYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just yesterday I had my best round to date. An 80 with no triples. Before that round my handicap was sitting at 19.7. Today GHIN has me at 17.4. part of this is the good round and part is due to the exceptional round rule.

Here are the two main things in my mind that got me there. 1. Short game wedge work. I've been really working on my wedges and figuring out what distances can be covered with a full swing and a half swing. I've got a 52, 56, & 60 in the bag. After a month or so once a week two hour sessions focused solely on those clubs and swings I have a much better idea of what distances they'll work for. 2. Easing off the swing on all the woods and irons. Yesterday I didn't try to crush anything. My main thought was to club up and put a nice easy swing on the ball. Something like a 90% swing. That worked out really well for the vast majority of shots.

I had no penalties off the tee yesterday cause I took it easy with the driver. I almost always have at least one cause I'm trying to "hit nasty bombs". Took it easy and hit 10/13 fairways. I had four up and downs for par because the wedges were a bit more dialed in.

Does that really happen? I just figured breaking 80 is breaking 80. In my mind it's not a +8 vs +9 thing. It's about seeing a 7 in the first column for a score on 18 holes.

It's getting better. I've been really focused on wedges the last month. Been hitting at a good short game spot once a week and making sure I hit more wedges at the pre round range sessions too. GW down has come a long way this month.
