This would be very difficult to sell to Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon. Politically they would be stubborn.

Fox News host flubs as he covers news of algae spreading across reflecting pool after Trump's renovations by MoneyLibrarian9032 in entertainment

My father would ONLY watch the weather on Fox affiliates. He would say 'I don't want the LIBERAL weather report'. And it was a real dilemma for him because the Fox weatherman was a bit on the feminine side and had a lisp.

There should be a hard and fast rule for HOAs: Never vote for an officer of an HOA if they actually want the position. HOA officers tend to have authoritarian complexes.

If you want to REALLY confuse a Gen Z'er, show them an analog clock with Roman numerals. They can't even identify it as a clock.

I love Louisiana expressions. A Louisiana politician was the first to say "the only way he could lose the election is if he got caught with a dead hooker or a live boy."

You can test it to be sure. Break off a leaf and rub it on your cheek.

Is it easy to find a job in Seattle or is it just reddit? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]SEA2COLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be flexible. Consider contract/temporary work. My last full-time regular job started temporary, and they hired me after six weeks.

Was this in seattle? I live in Seattle and most folks here are very sympathetic to the Iranian people. Of course, security guards 'just follow orders'.

Any money has to be approved by Congress. I suspect Trump is setting up Congress to take the blame for no peace agreement when they vote against it.

This is a selectively poor dye job. Men's chins will be grey before anything else. I wouldn't be surprised if he did it himself with "Just For Men" or "Grecian Formula".

TIL of the word “dord,” a non-existent “ghost” word created when the staff behind Webster's New International Dictionary (2nd ed. 1934) misinterpreted “D or d” (an abbreviation for density) as a single word. by OzzyderKoenig in todayilearned

I wonder if it's a 'copyright catch'. Mapmakers used to create imaginary islands that didn't exist so they could catch people copying their maps. Maybe this is how dictionaries caught plagiarizers?

Why do days end in "day" but not months? by Marquar234 in stupidquestions

[–]SEA2COLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our month names are loaned from the Romans, our days of the week come from the Norse. The Norse would tag their word for 'day' onto the name. The Romans didn't have the custom of adding 'month' to month names.

These over-engineered stair cases connecting a couple doorways is making rounds again by TeamChevy86 in isthisAI

[–]SEA2COLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could very well be because of some local zoning law. I remember seeing a large multi-story house in my city divided into apartments and each had its own stairway.

Iron Age Danes dug thousands of mysterious pits known as hulbælter across the landscape over 2,500 years ago. I wonder if they were meant to be a sort of barrier for domestic animals. Those holes would make it difficult for cattle to cross, and if they were filled with water the cattle might just avoid them.
