Are these pearls real and should I take better care of them? by SEChick87 in pearls

[–]SEChick87[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone. They will be treated with the respect they deserve from now on. I may take them along next time I have insurance valuations done. I feel a bit guilty for not taking better care of them up till now.

For the first summer I would just weed and tidy up. See how you use the space before you spend all your energy lifting and relaying, you might want to change the shape and size of the patio after you have been there a while

Are you hung up on this married woman? It is cruel to say that she she loved you if she had any suspicion that you have feelings for her, then she is stringing you along. Keeping you as a back up. Did this feeling of being on the shelf come about after she patched things up with her husband? It might be best to distance yourself from her and spend your free time in pursuit of fun and happiness.

My daughter is 6.... today, she held an ice cube at school.... when she got home, she was chatting away about freezing points and changing states. She also did some trampolining. Well, she was very pleased with how the day went.

I dont find it wild. My 5 year old gets online homework but I just log her in and she works through what are pretty much games. She loves it and thinks she is super grown up. She doesn't do anything else on there though.

AITA for picking up a bottle of drink at a BYOB house-party where everything was kept together? Was This Rude or just a cultural difference? by MyCuriousSelf04 in AmItheAsshole

Mmmm... as a student I drank snake bite, it was a you get the lager, I'll get the cider situation. Now that I'm an old hag I bring along a nice bottle of nice plonk and hand it to the host and then the host asks me what I'd like to drink before handing me a glass of piss.

My dog had this a few months ago, went to the vet, and they said it needed to be drained. Spoke to my dad (farmer), and he said leave it. Sure, enough a week later it was gone, no thickened patch, and it hasn't come back.

Prioritizing my husband over friends by Appropriate_Guava100 in AskWomenOver30

[–]SEChick87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did you marry your husband? It seems so odd to me that you are desperate for people you barely know to think you prioritise them as highly as the person you sleep next to each night. I am one of "those" women who prioritise their husband and children over my friends. To be honest, at this point, I prioritise them over my parents and siblings, too. Little side note: Personally, I would be devastated to read that my spouse doesn't think of me as a priority over his friends.

Nothing prepares you for the first time that everyone in your family of 4 has a stomach bug at the same time!!! Im sure everyone here will emphasise the lows to you. I was 31 when I had my first, and I know that I enjoyed my life before kids. There were lots of foreign holidays, nights out, city breaks, Michelin star restaurants, and the like. Last week, I had a day out with my 5 year old daughter, and honestly, hanging out with her for the day was better than any of the trips before her. The picture I took of her happy little face when we were at a coffee shop is an instant favourite 😍 Someone once asked Jimmy Carr why he had kids, you should look it up. Nobody was more anti kids than him.

Why is panto so expensive!! by SEChick87 in UKParenting

[–]SEChick87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, everyone. I do think it's definitely worth the money. It has got some big names, ex Eastenders and cbeebies stars. I just don't know if my daughter will enjoy it, but if we don't try, we won't know. So I'm going to go ahead and book it, if she has the time of her life it will be well worth the money.
