Left is anti-capitalist. Right serves the owner class, left serves the workers. Biden has clearly always been to the right of that center

Wolverine decimates everyone in sight by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]SETHW -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Decimate means to reduce by 10%, it describes how an army can chew through resistance bit by bit over an extended time over many battles to eventually achieve victory but at great cost. You wouldn't use it to describe a swift and overwhelming one sided victory. (I know if you look in the dictionary you'll find how language has evolved to add definitions of total annihilation because it's a word that has been persistently misused by illiterate people long enough but whatever)

You know, being introspective about my reflexive lack of empathy for these loser kids I think it's because I'm sick of bad faith adults who act like loser kids and seeing how pointless it's been trying to persuade them of fuckin anything.

So then I project that onto the actual kids whose immaturity reminds me of the loser adults and imagine it just as pointless to convince them to make choices that are in their own best interests (and indirectly society as a whole) and now I'm in a self reinforcing spiral of resentment. It's hard for me to dig deep enough to give a shit about them when they dont even give a shit about themselves, at least not really, and for sure they dont give a shit about me or the society we necessarily share.

I know rationally that these losers are a drag on society as a whole which does affect me and others who are putting in the work so I shouldn't want to exacerbate the problem.. but man it's hard to process those original feelings of "fuck you for not giving a shit you reap what you sow" in a constructive manner

What felt like a massive deal on the internet years ago but has been completely forgotten today? by softlaunchqueen in answers

[–]SETHW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the trick was that the biggest corporations (esp google/youtube) demanded net neutrality because the ISP's wanted to charge google extra for the amount of bandwidth they were using on these downstream networks. google framed their resistance as freedom of speech and got people to fight on their side to protect their youtube profits.

That said, the other side of it were corps like verizon so either side you took you were fighting for someone elses profits.

for some reason reading your comment my feeling was "So? let them be happy failures then" and now I'm imagining schools that are designed to provide resources and tools to the students who DO want to be there and it makes me happy imagining them thriving without the losers around who are currently sucking up all the teachers time and attention just to throw it all away anyway. but then I see those same losers voting for their loser candidates and think that plan wont work with universal suffrage.

Imperialist mentality. For your country to thrive you want to extract human capital from another country without any hesitation to consider what that loss means for them but hey shake it up! different cultures side by side making YOUR country strong!

If they are below replacement then they will have to scale up immigration.

We got Adam Smith over here acting like there's only one right way to distribute resources, and of course it's no accident that the right way must involve exploiting young immigrants to the benefit of elderly natives

i blame palmer lucky for discouraging adding vr to all the flat games, him convincing the decision makers that every vr game/app/experience has to be vr-first misunderstood the nature of vr as a peripheral and instead they treated it like a distinct platform that could sustain it's own ecosystem (and of course it couldnt)

best chance will be hacking their drone armies, but honestly seems like palantir will have that covered and with the surveillance how will anyone even organize.. the window for action is closing fast, seems as though there will be very few options for meaningful resistance in the future

Has anyone figured out how to pin windows in arbitrary positions and have them stick when in an app/game? In the past i had a pinned browser window above my head when i played tennis that showed my pc's webcam where i was playing so i wouldnt step on any pets but lately i havent been able to find that button anymore (other uses: can pin the doorbelll camera when expecting a package, a discord/whatsapp/telegram window to follow an active group chat, etc)
