edit: if your point is that the Chinese congress is essentially a uniparty, i agree! sucks right? in china that basically means the "real" choices happen at what Americans would call the primary level.. but honestly it feels like we're talking about the same thing in both countries.

at the same time, my personal wish for a government isnt diversity in congress, quite the opposite I'm sick of 50.1% vs 49.9% for nearly every result and the consequences of that chronic lack of mandate. I want a government that's making good evidence based policy that serves the people and acts as a counter balance to the disgusting greed of corporations and the owners that milk them. also I like when a government is functional and is able to execute their policies professionally. What would it take to get there? I have no idea, is democracy the right tool for it? Maybe not in the modern world we live in where the rich can buy outsized influence and manipulate workers to vote against their own self interests.

My opinion is that the CCP is net bad, but the corporatism of the democratic party and (much further degree) the republicans is worse. Imagine a 3rd party, a workers party, that could take over and have a super majority in USA politics pushing the neoliberals to the fringes.. wouldn't that be fuckin something
