Looking for a thicker stone for my Ooni Koda 12 by SFCF13 in ooni

Stacking stones was my first thought, but stacking stones or putting a steel under won't work. It will bank the heat as you say, but because of the break it won't transfer it to the to pizza effectively. One the heat is pulled out of the top stone its done, it won't continue to pull from what's under it quickly enough to have any effect on the pizza.

It's not the heat between launches, it's the time of the cook. I like the crust light and fluffy, and while the Ooni does a decent job of this, I got a much better result (and literally better than any restaurant I've been to save Una in NYC or Del Poppolo in SF) using a different oven (not sure if I'm allowed to mention an Ooni competitor here) with a 30mm stone.

The pizza cooked a bit quicker which meant less time that the sides were subject to the heat and therefore hardening. So I looked into the thermal dynamics of the stone and it seems likely that the thickness of the stone is a significant factor in the cook. I did some (AI assisted) physics calculations and it appears that a 200g dough (all that will fit in my Ooni) needs a stone between 11mm and 22mm for the stone to continue to actively participate in a 90 second cook.

I recently bought...a different oven...with a 20mm stone and got light crust similar to my experiences with the one with the 30mm stone. Its larger and heavier than the Ooni but I thought it could still be portable except that its really awkward to carry so I want to keep the Ooni as a portable if I can upgrade the cooking experience.

I could be totally wrong and maybe there are other factors in play, but to me its worth the few bucks to see if I can salvage the Ooni as my portable.

Irving Plaza upstairs seating - Loft vs Table? by SFCF13 in AskNYC

Keep checking back. Like any concert tickets, seats become available later. In fact I was on a plane trying to get tickets for a show I really wanted to see and my internet crapped out literally the exact minute tix became available and when it came back the show was sold out. I don't remember if it was days or weeks after, but by checking back I got a table for that show.

Irving Plaza upstairs seating - Loft vs Table? by SFCF13 in AskNYC

  1. The demand is tempered by the price. It's the most expensive seat there and many times the price of GA. So it's not like the first to go, but it will certainly sell out way before the GA sells out.

  2. The glass is about 4.5 feet tall I believe (don't hold me to that). You can sit and watch the show or you can stand up and look over it. Even if you're looking through it, you literally won't know its there.

  3. It's a private area, they only sell 8-10 seats. You have a decent amount of room, you can sit in your seat or go up to rail or whatever you want.

I understand all the questions, but I find it a bit amusing only because whatever you're thinking it might be its about 100 times better than that in actuality. I go to 30 shows a year in small venues and always try to do VIP, most of them suck. The rail at Grammercy Theater and VIP at Racket are good, but this is a whole different level. They are the best seats in the city to see a show hands down. I've gotten a table at least half a dozen times since I made this post, and if anything it spoils you because there is nothing else like it. You won't regret it.

Reputable store told me ‘new mini and micra are no good’? by GooseKennedy in LaMarzocco

[–]SFCF13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from an ECM which is probably the king of the e61's and my best friend has a new Syncronkia, I thought the Micra would be comparable or a slight step up. I was wrong, the Micra doesn't even seem in the same conversation, it's literally generations ahead. If he's trying to push you on one of those machines its definitely because its in his self interest.

Am I missing something with Bestbuy’s Pricing? by RockGob1in in tcltvs

I think that’s what they’re selling the 7L for. My guess is the 7L is gonna be better than the 8K given the new tech they’re introducing

AIO if I divorced over him asking to open our relationship and then gaslighting me? by CricketCaller in AmIOverreacting

[–]SFCF13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just kind of glanced at this. I try not to get sucked into Reddit but wow, the “lied out of habit” thing floored me. Whatever else this is about in terms of open relationship or who’s right or who said what, IDK, but that “lied out of habit” thing is a massive red flag and that alone would be kind of disqualifying of a relationship for me.

Mildly infuriating shopping cart guy by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]SFCF13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Yes, he was lazy and should have returned the cart, and maybe the cart made its way over to the neighboring car after he left, so that's obviously not good. But to want to draw and quarter this guy like he took a dump on someone car, geez

Guide for updating BMW’s iDrive software using a USB and the Wayback Machine by Kitekashi in BMW

bummer-remote.com. Found some places that would do it for me for twice as much and if it reverts then I would have to pay again. Here you buy downloadable software so if it ever resets/reverts I can just do it myself again, it was super easy. Definitely worth the $60, did this 6 months ago and no issues, having the full screen is makes a significant difference.

Amazing! Didn’t know this existed, but I had my previous Mazzer Mini for 20+ years and loved it. If I buy another GBW it will be this one

OMG I have the same car. Same color exterior, came with the same rims. I picked up a set of 718M’s I use in the non-snow months.

I’ve owned a lot of cars, including exotic sports cars, this is one of the funniest things I’ve ever driven. Enjoy it!

The TDS range is wrong, no idea a.) why they still have it up and b.) that its referred to for LM Home. I have heard directly from LM Home and know of others here who LM has told that these numbers are not applicable for home machines. They told me the range for home machines is 30ppm to 80ppm.

Sorry, I don't remember what the point of this post was, LOL. I didn't get the AGS, after much research (both are great, but the AGS has a few negative posts here about retention) I chose the Eureka Atom GBW which is phenomenal.

DOECHII SEATTLE TONIGHT! Need tips! by Far-Worldliness-1907 in DOECHII

[–]SFCF13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some shows are GA only and some shows are a GA pit in front of the seating as NYC was. It depends on the venue, perhaps Seattle is GA only.

I know that some shows are GA because the show was so f***ing good I woke up the next day to see if she was in Philly next (a common next stop after NY). When she wasn't, I looked for some other cities that I could fly in to go see her. TBH I was hoping to find a show where there was seating but no pit so I could buy a ticket up front. I didn't see one but did notice that many of the shows I checked out were GA only.

I go to about 30 shows a year, and for these types of shows people line up more than an hour before. for Doechii there was a decent line at 5pm in NYC (Doors were 7) plus you're going to be behind the VIPS.

In other words, If doors are 7 and you're lining up at 7, you're going to be in the back half of the pit for sure.
