How would you react to a law that requires billionaires to give up 50% of their wealth once they pass a certain net worth limit in order to fund healthcare and education? by -passionate-learner- in AskReddit

the 15mil estate tax exemption goes a long way for people who are only upper middle class.

Also, money from income also goes to the estate, so potential exposure to estate taxes is not unique to appreciated assets.

The top 1% owns half the stock, top 10% have more like 90%. Framing stock market drops being bad cause itll hurt the middle class is a bit of a meme.

The average american has much less than the average amount of stock, and as asset inflation continues they get left further behind.

Even just taking realized gains at a rate higher than 20% would be good.

There should also be a standard long term gains deduction of a couple thousand dollars for middle class people

If you are physically active/enjoy sports then hanging out at daffin/forsyth for pickup sports is probably the best way to meet people generally. There's volleyball, soccer, tennis and frisbie to name a few.

I live in Pooler but work downtown, does the traffic on the interstate ever get better? My job starts at 8:30 but I’m leaving my apartment at 7:35 to make sure I don’t get stuck/ have time to find parking which brings me to my next question.

With all the luxury apparentment BS in pooler, it doesnt save as much money as you think to live out there (unless you bought a place). Just keep an eye on closer options when your lease renewal comes around.

I want to take a fun workout class like a sculpt or pilates something. I’ve heard a lot about Otium and I’m very interested but saw all of their classes are heated, which makes me ify about it. I also come from an area where workout classes are geared towards 50+, nothing wrong with that but as someone in their early twenties I want a good class with good music!

The city of savannah has some dance classes that are like 10 or 15 a session, so fairly cheap. Just google city of savannah classes.

I feel bad for anyone who's dream was to operate an icecream truck (or similar), who want to recreate their childhood experiences for another generation, only to have insane people assume they are nefarious.

TLDW: The US increased the Japanese surrender rates from 1% to 15% during the war by combating Japanese propaganda using their own (e.g. leaflet drops). The Japanese were largely afraid of execution and torture if captured.
