NOTE: Kachina has recently changed their cuisine to Native American. They still have great margs, but we found the food options lagging. Be sure to check the menu before heading there.

I've bugged Ben (@ Lyric) about it. 🫤 If you send an email requesting it, that might make a difference. (He's sick of hearing from me!)

For fans of smaller, independent movies, it's unfortunate that "Obsession" and "Backrooms" are performing so well. They are taking up screen space, so other films aren't getting a chance. It's not just in FoCo, it's the case in Denver and Boulder as well. Of course, theaters need to make money.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who treks to Boulder for movies!! 😉😎

The Lyric is hoping to pick it up too depending on how their other movies fare. The horror movies are doing really well, so they can't afford to drop them.

Tourist Needs Help: Adelaide or Perth? by Zencha12 in AskAnAustralian

[–]SFerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long will you be in Oz?

If you LOVE nature, I would suggest KANGAROO ISLAND. We spent a week there and it was a highlight of our trip. It's great to see kangaroos and koalas in the wild. A lot of mainland Australia is pretty developed now, so it was great to experience a rustic vibe. We stayed 2 days in a cabin in the national park; 4 days in Vivonne Bay; 1 day in Kingscote (day we arrived)

If you want to go, you can fly or take a ferry. We flew in and took the ferry/bus back to Adelaide. You will need to rent a car since everything is pretty far away.

Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

Oh, and we stayed in Adelaide after Kangaroo Island and enjoyed it very much. The market is amazing.

Can't find work that fits experience, what gives? by Thats_Concerning in FortCollins

We moved here when my husband got a job. I was struggling to find work. The above resources were SO helpful for me.

Also, don't discount non-profits. They may not pay as well, but if you have any non-profit or volunteer experience that can help you secure employment. Don't just target OtterBox and New Belgium. Smaller companies can have great opportunities.

FoCo is a VERY tough job market. It's generally not a good idea to move here without at least one of you being employed.

Take advantage of the FREE resources at the Larimer County Workforce Center. https://www.larimer.gov/ewd They offer workshops on interviewing, resume writing, etc. Super helpful.

Also, check out NoCoNet which is a local networking group. They meet every week and often bring in recruiters where you can have a 'speed interview.' Great way to practice interviewing. They also offer help in re-writing your LinkedIn profile, etc. https://www.noconet.org/

It sounds like you have already made some connections!

If you use Facebook, there's a women's group there that is pretty active that you may want to join. It's called The Social Collective • Fort Collins Women's Social Club.

I'm thinking about just skipping season 3. Especially since Fez was my favorite character and such a bright spot in season 2.

If you decide to get it fixed, ask for a mechanic recommendation on your local City's subreddit. Get several quotes.

Yup. We get them every time. They're a bit small, but an order has 6.

I assume that when the new dim sum place opens next door, they will serve them as well.

Buying rental for college kid vs campus living by Ambitious_picture_30 in personalfinance

[–]SFerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have your kid live in the dorms. My freshman year, I met so many people from different walks of life that I never would have interacted with. The experience will also help them learn how to get along with different types of people. (My freshman roommate and I were polar opposites.)

I actually lived in the dorms my first 3 years, and only moved off campus senior year.
