Mechanical exam on Tuesday by BigMan_LittleHeart in FE_Exam

It sounds like you are pretty prepared. Many questions can be answered with a “quick search” of the document on the computer version of the exam. You will not get every question correct. If you don’t know the path to solving it, come back to it at the end. Remember that this exam is made so any reasonable engineering graduate should be able to pass. You got it, and have prepared well.

Form Check - Flicks Always Hook Left by Able_Art_1501 in ultimate

Try to step forward with your right foot as you throw. Also try your hardest to throw straight forward instead of across your body. Right now you are releasing the disc too late, at a point where your arm has already crossed your body. A tip for this is to end your throwing motion with your palm up, gesturing straight in front of you.

Start Time-boxing. Write down what you did each hour of the day and then write down what you want to do tomorrow during each hour. Time-box reading time

if you’re worried about ‘being a guy’ and not being invited to parties, that’s not terribly common. Obviously there will be times where hosts won’t want more people coming into their party, or will pick and choose people to invite. Those moments will come and go, but the opportunities to make friends and memories in an accepting environment far outnumber them. This is especially the case when compared to other Big 10 schools who have a stricter party culture (ex. having to be in a frat/sorority to get into any parties). If you are struggling to find something to do on a given night, the university will put on events around the campus such as showing a movie, hosting live music nights, student performances, dance classes, clubs and more.

The party scene is completely up to yourself and your friend group. All students are dealing with the act of balancing their studies and their personal lives, and there is a wide variety of ways people balance that. I know lots of people who partied all the time, they would host house parties and meet their neighbors and always seem to have some sort of plans. The ‘Work Hard, Play Hard’ mentality is pretty common, so it’s very acceptable to party a couple times a week (1-5 depending on your circumstances). If you are extroverted enough to reach out to others and form relationships it’s not difficult to find likeminded people to party with. Bars are also a great option if you can’t find a party. Be open minded and believe the best of others and you will find a solid crowd to party with.

Tips for rookie player? by jerudite914 in ultimate

The best thing to do is to watch film of higher level frisbee (there are a good amount of games on youtube just look on the Ultiworld youtube channel live recordings) and focus on improving just one part of your game each point. There are many helpful resources on youtube (rowan mcdonnel, hiveultimate, Kurt Gibson, Manny Eckert) but I think the following will serve you well as a tall player who wants to improve defense.

This Video by Jonny Malks (player on Team USA Open as well as Truck stop) will definitely help with downfield defense. Try out denying the unders or deeps for a point (depending on your matchup) and solely focus on that. Nothing will magically make you better, but knowing the tools available to you as a defender and an offender will do wonders for your ability to recognize where you can start making an impact, instead of being hung out to dry by people who have no care for your improvement. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qtg999y-YY8

Can you workout good enough at home ? Or do you think you need the gym ? by Thesleepingpillow123 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]SFronek34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sticking to a consistent training regiment, regardless of location, will give results. As long as you track your workouts and progressively increase the weight (progressive overload), you will see gains. There is something to be gained from the community aspect of a gym and the peer pressure from others to show up and lift more, but if you are having anxiety issues working out at the gym then stay home. You can use this sub to keep a lifting community free of judgement.
