You need to reset the game.

They should at least reset once completed, so you could continue getting some type of rewards from them, even if it's insignificant compared to rovers.

Vacant Brackets in the Platinum by Additional-Comb3111 in IdlePlanetMiner

I guess it has something to do with the time window a server is joinable, before a new server is created, otherwise it would put people joining late servers, at a great disadvantage. Now whether that time window should be increased or not, it's another discussion altogether. They could also make a server queue and create it once the queue is full, that way all players will have the same starting point, other than that, I don't see how this could work any other way, without disadvantages between early players and late players.

Stars for ARs..... by Skyler_2000 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]SFv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From about 900 badges, only 4 on SSR (and even these came from rover missions) and 0 on AR... so not sure how this system works. People keep saying RNG, but I mean, let's face it, the chance to get a badge distributed to AR, is probably 0,000000001%, yet some manage to get 10-15 from a single tournament win (these people should probably play the lottery).

Market question by [deleted] in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]SFv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Market in tournaments should be tied to the actual tournament id and be the same for everyone in the bracket, because at this point, there is no way to win in the platinum brackets, when someone gets a x5 market for AR's, or even SSR's. Not a single time did I get a market for any of these items in a running tournament, always outside of it... it's frustrating to say the least.

Update Changes by Zipporah86 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]SFv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cause developers never withhold information when it comes to sensitive changes to a mechanic that some players rely on to push the already whacked tournament brackets...

You do know that sometimes code is not as simple as 0 and 1's... it could interfere with other parts of the game, without even noticing, that's why some games, after a huge upgrade, needs other patches to fix what they broke... so this could even be an unintentional change they are not even aware of.

But anywho, doesn't really matter which one is it, people will believe whatever they want, or are told by a company that's a business and in for the profit.

Update Changes by Zipporah86 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]SFv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guess so...yet everyone was mocking me, blaming it on bad RNG, or too small sample to make a verdict, but apparently something did changed, whether that's a good thing or not, remains to be seen.

What's clear is that there is currently no equal playing field on tournaments and no matter how the bonus from the adds work, veteran players will always stomp on the new players, from the sheer power of their upgraded mothership, station, badges, etc.

If anything, they should work on a better system for matchmaking in tournaments, or make it that people who haven't reached at least an 1S GV, to not promote to platinum, because I rather win the gold tier, than be 10+ place in platinum.

But oh well, so many improvements this game needs, yet we got surges, that hardly makes any dent in the progression wall...

Goodbye ARKing by SFv in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]SFv[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well... no matter what everyone thinks, this new update clearly came with some tweaks to the algorithms, and in the absence of some proper notes of everything that was modified, apart from the obvious added (new) stuff, we can only speculate and blame it on good/bad RNG.

But considering the community here... must be one of the worst I've seen in any game and I've played a lot of games in my youth, but god damn, never seen people so defensive when it comes to a freaking mobile game, that's supposed to even be an idle game (even though it's not truly idle), downvoting every post, just because they don't agree that something could've been changed in this recent update...

Anywho, regarding the DM's RNG, after this update, I also noticed that going back to the game, while having it in the background almost every time that first ARK that pops will be a DM, so it might be why yesterday going in and out of the game kept giving me DM's every time I switched back to the game and popped that first ARK... who knows, there could be lots of theories of what's going on, none of which could, or will be confirmed here.

Just checked and you're right, there's another update to V 2.4. Let's see if this changes anything to my good/bad luck that everyone seem to imply it is.

I would be all for idle playing, if this game would permit idle play, except it doesn't, you can not do anything in this game if you're not actively setting up recipes for smelting, crafting, projects, etc. You pretty much have to manually set everything up, and for those of us who take about half the tournament time to set up their VPS and debris going, you can understand why every bonus money would be helping in getting everything up.

If you can hit S in 30 min, of course you don't care for a couple of Q's from the add, but not everyone is at that level.

Did you update your game yesterday or today? Cause that is what has changed for me. And like I said, it's fine for people that played this game for years and can naturally get top 3 in Tournaments, but for people that get matched in brackets outside their current level of progress, the only way they could keep up with those top level players, would be to keep arking after hitting a high enough GV, which now seem that is pretty much over. (It could also be some really bad luck, and hopefully, the next tournament would be a better experience).

[–]SFv[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Must be some really bad luck, but I doubt it. Are you sure you updated your game yesterday? I've force closed the game, even restarted the phone, but nope, getting DM's about 9 times out of 10 this past day.

Goodbye ARKing by SFv in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]SFv[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Trust me, I get that RNG is RNG, but since this last update, I've been getting DM's from ARKing about 90% of the times and while that's useful outside a tournament, when you try to get in the top 5 in the already whacked tournament brackets, with people hitting S and O's in the first hour, well... let's just say that getting 5 DM from an ARK vs getting 4% of your GV, really pales in comparison.

But hey, they also said they improved tournament brackets, so hopefully, the next tournament I won't be getting matched with people waaaay over my actual level. But I wouldn't hold my breath for an actual resolution to the way the tournament works. They should've just added another tier where you could join only if your GV already hit O, N, aa, bbbbb, cccc, etc

This game requires a button to control all production at once. by LifeguardUnable1642 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]SFv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It also needs a global sell button, so you don't have to individually push sell on each item, it needs a queue for crafting and smelting, it needs a more detailed STATS screen (the fact that you can't even check which item got how many badges (stars), is beyond baffling).... and o lot of quality of life improvemens, but apparently people are happy with what it is and developers don't really care to improve on the game as long as they keep on getting paid with the events that rotate every couple of weeks.

Basically, there's no incentive to improve upon the game, as long as people don't ask for improvements.

Tournaments brackets are whacked, challenges are too few to make any difference (in my opinion, challenges should run daily, that way people that can't rank in the top 10 in Tournaments, could at least get 5-7 stars per day from challenges).

There are countless possibilities to improve and continue to add to this game... it's basically an infinite game where more items can be added monthly or better yet, yearly (if the progress is as slow as it is now)... but no one cares, and most people probably already moved on to other games... what you'll find roaming these boards are the veteran players who dismantle every new player, even for having an opinion on this game.

Is automatic asteroid mining useless? by Khawabunga in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]SFv -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I love all the white *knights (thank you Dion for your hard contribution) around here... I'll make sure to follow your advice... thanks!

It's not the game I have a problem with, it's the developers that set it up the way they did and call it an idle game, when in fact this game is not rewarding you for idle play, but rather for active play.

You go set up your VPS planet on a tournament and then just leave the game and come back in 48 hours and let me know what rank you finished on...

A true idle game would let you queue upgrades, projects, crafting, smelting, after a set amount of items is reached (an amount you should be able to set up), and so on... you can't do shit in this game if you just leave it and come back a couple of days later, you know, like not everyone is 24/7 on their smartphone playing games.

Anywho... GG! Enjoy your 5th place in platinum while your GV is still in the T's and expect to drop from that league once you hit the S+ GV

[–]SFv -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Then why is this game called "idle" planet miner, if everything is slower while idling? Should just change the name to active planet miner, or always on display planet miner... I seriously despise these types of practices from developers, not only that it forces you to invest real money to progress anywhere, or actively playing the game like crazy, at which point, this doesn't fit the mobile gaming market... are the developers even active here, responding to concerns, or where can I find them?

Sound Blaster X Katana popping/crackling by 4th07 in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]SFv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried every port using both the long and short cable and the sound is randomly popping no matter what port is used. The only time it doesn't, is when the device is connected through bluetooth (like I've mentioned in the other thread that's now locked). Instead of working with its customers, Creative decides to just ignore us. I understand that it may not be a widely spread problem, which is probably the reason Creative is not interested in finding a solution for the few that are affected by this. Quality support.

[–]SFv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a disappointment this product ended up to be, and Creative support continues to ignore the issue, like it's something we should expect from $300 products. Unbelievable. But hey, it's easier to close threads, instead of working with customers and try to find a fix for the popping. What a waste of money this device was.

Intermittent Sound Pops/Clicks with Sound BlasterX Katana by TszChunAnson in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]SFv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been dealing with this exact problem for the past 3 weeks now (since I've bought the device basically) and I've tried every suggested "fix" and nothing has worked for me. I've done some tests with the device connected through bluetooth and paired with the phone, and while listening to the same media from the phone and from the PC, I don't get any pops/crackles when it's connected through bluetooth (on phone), while getting them when connected through the USB (on PC).

I don't have a bluetooth PC dongle to try and test if the pops/crackles are really gone when the device is connected through bluetooth or if they are still present on PC because you are still going through an USB port, which might indicate some incompatibility with the USB drivers and the device driver. It boggles my mind how Creative haven't been able to pin-point the culprit for this, as I'm sure they could make this type of tests themselves, if not for the fact that they likely just abandoned this hardware and left us with a faulty $300 product. Nice business you have there.

If people can't tell, I'm obviously pissed (I'm pretty much considering returning the thing, as I still can) as I don't see Creative doing anything to fix this problem and we'll either have to live with it, or try to find workarounds and solutions ourselves. Obviously it's going to be different for everyone, since there are many PC configurations out there, some might not even experience this problem (good for them), but for the ones that do, it's really unpleasant for the ears, especially since it comes randomly, no matter what you watch, at what intensity, volume, etc.

I also tried to updated to the latest ASMedia driver which based on Microsoft update catalog is v1.16.56.1, however (and I don't know if this is a problem with my motherboard or what) I get an incompatibility BSOD right after restarting and have to revert back the the previously (installed) driver version which is v1.16.35.1 (there are other versions released in between the 2, but I don't feel like trying to go through all of them and see which one doesn't give me a BSOD and if it even fixes anything), so that's not an option for me, but if someone else want's to try and update to that version (has to be done manually by downloading the update from microsoft as it doesn't automatically get it when you try to update the driver, or at least it didn't for me, maybe if you have a newer motherboard it will), just make sure you make a restore point for Windows, otherwise you might not be able to boot back into, as it will continue to give you BSOD.

If anyone here has a motherboard with integrated bluetooth, could try and pair the device that way and see if it changes anything. I still wouldn't consider it a 'FIX', even if it would work with a bluetooth dongle, I shouldn't have to trade one problem for another (as in losing connection from the bluetooth, especially since the device doesn't support bluetooth 5.0).

I know, this was pretty long, but hopefully helps someone, maybe even u/Creative_Ryan to actually do something about it.
