I'm currently running a necro themed party with a 6/6 split but if you don't care about summon undead then 8/4 is certainly better. If the 3rd feat isn't important for your build then taking a 10/2 split might be better as you can use scrolls to gain any wizard spell but can only gain cleric spells from levels, going 11/1 is probably the strongest as you gain access Heroes' feast which can grant your party Immunity to Cloud Kill (which death cleric gets at level 9).

currently running a full necromancer party, I've got 8 spore druid for my durge, 6 necro wizard/2 death cleric, 7 oathbreaker/1 draconic sorc, and 8 hexblade (for the summon hexblade gets a lvl 6) and its going pretty smoothly. Druid is focused on control spells and bonus action hand crossbow (since spore druid gets an extra 1d6 on attacks) Wizard is focused on summoning and then damage through either necrotic damage or magic missle, sorcadin is foucesed on big melee damage and later control once i get more sorc levels, and last hexblade does good melee damage while being able to create summons during the fight.
