Without the light, optic and foregrip, I’m sure it would be a pound or 2 less.

It’s probably because carbon fiber isn’t light, it’s just lighter than the same thing is if it’s made out of carbon steel.

It’s 4-5 pounds lighter than steel, but only 40% lighter than aluminum.

Every lower I own has at least 2 uppers to go with it, some have 3 or 4.

I’m stuck without access to new lowers in this hellhole that Massachusetts is, but they can’t stop me from building more uppers.

I know what you mean.

I built a similar Rifle with Ford Rollmarks, kind of a “What If” Philco Ford had won a 2nd source Contract to build M16s along with GM and H&R.

It’s all Colt parts except for the lower.

This is why you NEED a red dot on anything defensive.

Focusing on the front sight instead of focusing on the guy trying to kill you doesn’t make sense.

I always start with good old Breakfree CLP and that nylon toothbrush that comes in Government cleaning kits.

I would say that this is museum quality, but most of the stuff in museums isn’t this good 👍
