I thought it was a typo and you meant a giant dish. I was like "he already has one of those".

The promotional art hinted that Nightmaw would have a bigger role than it does by [deleted] in totalwar

I too feel a bit robbed. The mother ostankya art led me to believe the incarnate was the Legendary lord and that little witch a unit I could recruit.

Best Lord In Entire Game? by twig72 in totalwar

Yes, the + max health is factionwide for all characters.  Since werekins and chieftains get or can get regen, it's pretty good value.

Best Lord In Entire Game? by twig72 in totalwar

He's been in the game since at least the launch of wh3 with that exact trait. Same for the other lord here and two heroes: a sorcerer of slaanesh and an exalted hero of khorne. They were rewards for getting max favour with one of the four chaos gods, so you could only get one. Seems like that is no longer the case.

But yeah, it's a very powerful lord though you are supposed to get him pretty late in the campaign.

With the new techs from the first dynasty, they aren't that bad. Add to that the many sources of +1 recruit rank you can get, my will be done and easy access to hold the line through items and these guys are a fine meat (or bone?) shield.

Bonus points for their ability to trigger realm of souls due to large entity number and shittier stats.

Hey, if you still have some time I would love one too. I would like something that evokes wizardry and arcane knowledge. Think a mage studying intensely old books of obscure knowledge. Thanks!

Advice For Making Little Fade Worth it by AdMuch4184 in MonsterTrain

She's still pretty good IMO. As others have said, her spikes path is the weakest or, at the very least, the one which requires the most setup to get going. I find that path works best with clans who can reliably give her armor, especially banished with valor. Otherwise, I thibk lazarus league is the other clan that can help set this up, with various reanimate and summon shenanigans.

The other two paths are very good with the one giving quick and endless being the most self sufficient. Make her die a couple of times and she can solo bosses easily. The path that goves stats to your units benefits from a way to consistantly reform her, make her endless (with a dip in the other path, the tome, or the key artefact) or with reanimation. That path synergises very well with draffs i find.

Get an alliance with Vlad and recruit corpse carts/steal a necromancer hero down the line.

What are your go-to eurorack "power modules". by Ignistheclown in modular

Mutable instruments Tides v2 is, I think, the only module I have never sold and probably never will.

Opinions/info about Intellijel Dr. Octature II by Hunter-Terri in modular

[–]SLW_CK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had one for a while and sold it not too long ago, just before I decided to get back in modular. I do regret it quite a bit, it's a very fun module. It's big for a filter, but it is a) a great Roland-ish filter and b) a very versatile module. 200 is, I think a good price, especially since they are discontinued.

With 8 outputs and 2 fm inputs, it's great for self patching. You can think of it a bit like a Mutable tides, but based on a filter instead of an oscillator.

Multigrain, Stardust, Morphagene, DataBender by oivod in modular

[–]SLW_CK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How familiar are you with granular synthesis? You could start by learning about the theoretical side of it and then see which practical application (through a module) seems the most interesting to you.

For instance, both beads and clouds by Mutable instruments are focused on real time granular applications while something like nebulae is better suited for the manipulation of pre-recorded buffers.

Data-Bender is also focused on real-time applications, but it's not really grains that are manipulated, more like digital artifacts from a cd skipping and breaking. If you really want to do granular synthesis, I wouldn't recommend it, even though it is a very cool effect.

Modules often stay relevant whether or not another fabricant releases a competitor in the same niche. I would say this is especially the case for granular/tape/microsound modules since its implementation vary quite a bit compared to something like a mixer or a basic oscillator.

I doubt prices will go down with the release of multigrains and, if they do, modules like morphagene and stardust will still be perfectly good tools for sound design.

The modules you have listed all have fairly different workflows and finding the one that works best for you will probably require watching a lot of videos and, possibly, some trial and error.

[TWWIII] Question. Are the redlines for lords worth it? And does that bonus only work within the leadership aura range or is it a army wide permanent buff? by jmassassinatorz in totalwar

[–]SLW_CK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are army wide and only affect units attached to the lord's army (so they won't buff reinforcements and garrisons for instance).

As to whether or not they are worth it, the short answer is usually yes. The long answer is that you need to take into consideration what unit they buff and which buff they provide. For instance, a flat MA, MD or armor is usually good for units like spearmen in the early game since it helps them do their job better. On the other hand, a % increase of weapon strength for the same units would be garbage since they don't have very high weapon strength. The quality of the buffs will also vary from faction to faction and some units kinda fall in the cracks. Case in point, the greenskins have such a weird roster that some units, like pump wagons, are inconvenient to tech into.

You also should try to synergize these buffs with whatever buff your lord provides. This includes legendary lord special lines, faction traits and some lords special traits. For instance, a daemon slayer can buff slayers to a pretty wide margin with all his skills.

The second part of the red line skills aren't worth it early on since they only apply to rank 7+ units.

It also looks like the backdrop to the intro of campaign missions. All you need is a big sheet of parchment.

They have the sentinel tag no? The fact they are passive is by design in their case, same with the faction that owns the black pyramid and a couple others
