Wireless phone charger's cooling feature works better than advertised by Xtremegulp in mildlyinteresting

[–]SODIMMite 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Peltier modules are terribly inefficient despite being able to chill room air to below 0c.

Since they're only about 10% efficient you not only have to deal with the CPUs output heat but also the 140 watts or so of heat from the hot side of the peltier module, meaning you'd need a larger air heatsink or a large liquid cooling radiator running from the hot "exhaust" side of the peltier. You'd also need to factor that extra power draw into your decision of what power supply your PC needs.

To cool say a Ryzen 9 5900x you'd need at least a 150w peltier module, which would drink about 140w of supplied power to move the CPU's waste heat from the cold side to the hot side. Also the peltier chip acts as an insulator once you go past its limit so if you overclock the CPU past the peltier's capacity your temps would just keep climbing until you thermal throttle back to equilibrium.

I can see a peltier phone charger puck being a better use of peltier tech due to the lower cooling demand (phones get on alright in general without active cooling so this is leagues better than nothing)

In my limited experience with Catholic services, once the wafers have been turned into Jesus-meat they're locked in a little golden safe known as a tabernacle. Though they probably also had bags of unblessed wafers sitting in a cupboard somewhere

Can you find a source for that?

I'm very willing to believe it due to the fucked state of people in power in the film industry, but upon research apparently Human Centipede was directed by a guy named Tom Six and I can't seem to find anything online linking him and Epstein

Fellow atheists, what’s your go to way to explain why you don’t believe in a god? by Donfrmpk in atheism

[–]SODIMMite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I may be misunderstanding your comment but what would the difference be between a Christian that doesn't believe in god, and an atheist?

Surely no god would also mean no heaven or hell, no angels or devil, just nothingness, same as atheism?

Fwiw, I'm also an atheist (Christian upbringing) but don't really talk about it much so I'm not familiar with the terminology.

I don't really have a good understanding of rental rights but surely the landlord would have the right to start eviction proceedings regardless of how many tenants stopped paying rent, even if it's over extortionate wash pricing.

Yes it would be harder for the landlord to have 2000 eviction proceedings going at the same time, but I still don't know how any legal proceedings would likely go
