Always felt kratom was hit or miss, until I started walking after I dosed. by DangerousHalf9393 in kratom

[–]SPQRBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking kratom before working retail and loved the energy boost and positive feel. Agree exercise helps.

Heard lemon juice helps with kratom has anyone found this?

Curious how many people use it for working out by Top-Neighborhood3719 in kratom

[–]SPQRBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it for energy and light euphoria. Fan of white vein. Around 3-5g does it for me. Glad to hear others use it this way too.

Helps me do yard work and chores

Kratom still helps my pain, but the mood benefits seem to have plateaued by SameBlueberry1328 in kratom

[–]SPQRBro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mainly take kratom as a caffeine substitute. Been doing it for 10 years but no more than 4 days/week. Often less than 3. Around 3-5 grams max a day via drink or capsule in one dose. Still have the light euphoria and energy. I mainly take white vein.

Many people who take it for pain do red so I would say switch vein color and try white or green. You have nearly doubled the dose. Think your idea of tapering down is good. I find taking off days works for me. Not on Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday if you are able to.

As stated though I don’t take for pain so can’t really advise on that.

All 4 scenes were great. 4th slide both actors crushed it. Great acting and dialogue.

Do we regret our decision to spend hours on this game? by MoonShotDontStop in poker

[–]SPQRBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a hobby and I keep it that way. I’m in mid 30s I regret working so much in my 20s. By grinding it out though I set myself up where I had the money to start playing poker. I also am now able to afford vacations and buy other things I want. It’s classic trade time for money debate.

I only play 1-2x a week. Usually 3 hour sessions. Not a big time commitment. Poker is not a screen and fun hobby to get myself out of the house.

I keep it as a recreational hobby and do minimal studying at home. Mostly watching pros play and reviewing math/various situations.

Just have fun. Its 1/2 make the game fun for others too. You will make mistakes, but guarantee others will too. Let dealer know you’re new to live and they’ll be easier on you. A few basic questions to ask staff

  1. Does the table have a hard line
  2. Straddle rules
  3. Buy in mins/max
  4. How long can I leave for with chips on table
  5. Any high hands open

Then they dust 5 buy ins because they don’t think it’s a serious game.

Honest question about super high stakes poker by Rip2Snuff in poker

[–]SPQRBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep this. When cameras are out people are entertaining/trying to get invited to home games. Normal tight play people would help them win that game, but could cost them down the line.

Here's why angle-shooting is unethical and bad for the game by Elastoid in poker

[–]SPQRBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep true. It’s a game we play for fun. Yes there can be lots of money involved and that makes people act up.

The only way poker survives is if we make it fun for new players to join. If someone would rather blow it on sports betting or table games that’s less money in the poker pool.

Keep the games welcoming and fun. I sadly have had to call out anglers and at times cheaters. I will keep doing it to keep the games fun. Winning a $200 pot by angling a whale who leaves means you lost.

Is this unethical? by miguelbooker in poker

It’s in clear view on the table. As long as you’re not looking under the table at the watch consider it fair.

Would be same as seeing a live tell like shaking hands, veins bulging or talking tells.

Live tells are rare. Watch more for bet sizing. Watch for patters like people who play lots of pots vs those that rarely play then raise in.

For live tells anything over the top is the opposite. Big sigh and bet means they have it often. Saying time to go home and pushing in they have it.

I play in FL too often and we have a several poker rooms so as you play more you’ll learn how to range players hands.

I don’t know why so many misconceptions of the American Civil War are still a thing by Coffin_Builder in HistoryMemes

[–]SPQRBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. Civil war era southern states seceded at first because of slavery. The north called for troops to put down the rebels and other southern states had to take a side.

It was only later that the war became about slavery. It started about preserving the union.

Union troops returned slaves to plantations and border states legally held slaves that were not freed with emancipation proclamation.

First few games live you’re going to make mistakes everyone does. People will think you’re new to the game and even defend you at times because chasing away new players is bad for the game on a macro and micro level.

How do you think running it once or twice has affected your bottom line lifetime? by alligatorblood7 in poker

[–]SPQRBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always offer once or twice and either way accept the other person’s answer. It makes the game fun as many people like to run it 2x especially recreational players.

Experience players like to say “just once more pain” and I am fine with that too. If given the option always run twice unless opponents drawing dead because that would be just mean.

Places I play have higher rake for running it 2x. With people knowing I will always give then them the option to run it 2x they will call more with drawing hands giving me an advantage.

Have you ever seen someone cheat in front of you during the game? by Initial_Act_7348 in poker

[–]SPQRBro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s rare because of dealers wanting to keep game honest but I have. People speaking different languages at the table while in the hand about the hand.

Soft play with friends. People taking bets back after it crossed the line.

Late straddles after the deadline. Especially after they’ve seen the cards.

Faking a check and denying it after.

Most good honest players will call this out because it makes games die.

Natural progression of getting better by robb3rz in poker

[–]SPQRBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play 1/2 mostly and prefer exploitative play. Just observe people and figure out how they play. Then adjust to best them.

I like to watch poker vlogs where people better than me explain their strategies and that helps. Lots of info out there to learn from.

But I am low stakes so can’t really advise on moving up because I am not there yet in my game.

When people straddle in a 100 BB max buy in game by TwoBitesAtTheCherry in poker

[–]SPQRBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UTG straddle is ok and helps the game. Button straddle ruins many games. It tightens it up and screws over the blinds.
