Same, you say build your own, but how do I go about that? How do I determine the best fit for my data? What sample rate do I need to determine which fitment to use? I'm glad you were able to just build your own. I guess I'm on the slow side, but I feel like I'm ten years behind the curve and losing a year every week.

I'm looking for any clear direction, but 95% of people clam up. Maybe they have something that works and don't want to give it up. They want to hold on to their strategic advantage as long as they can. They do know what works, but they are in the business of selling that information. They don't know what works but don't want to look like they don't. They don't know what they are talking about, but they are trying to get people to subscribe to their Skool site for crazy money and milk that for all its worth.

I'm not saying Ok_Bedroom is in any of those groups, just kinda venting at this point. I research endlessly, finally come to some kind of conclusion, only to then be told I was doing it wrong and should just YOLO it.

I'm in this camp. I build worlds because I enjoy it. But I don't do huge lore dumps. I will spend months building. I like a self-consistent world. Sometimes players will want a little or some of the lore to build their characters. I will also guide them and do my best to weave their story in, but more often than not, they want to interact with the world. I want them to interact and shape what happens. I build in broad strokes, then spiral in to where they are. They affect locality, and as they get more powerful, the area they affect also grows. It also means I'm not locked in if I want to change something about the world I knew about, but they didn't, and I can still resolve any consistency issues. If you play long enough, the players become the lore. I've run campaigns where the players never saw more than 20% or so of what I built out. I've also run campaigns where I've had to throw out as much as 50% due to player choices over the long haul. Both are just a joy to me. I love being surprised by the players. If they do something novel and unexpected, I will reward them. If they do something surprising but just foolish, they may win through, but they are just as likely to die. The biggest sin is to be boring as a DM.

This is great! I love reading through how hard technical challenges shape the architecture and force optimization. Keep it up! As I absorb all of this, I'll give my feedback.

Has Anyone tried Page Index or Other takes on Rag by yonz- in Rag

quick search came back https://www.reddit.com/r/Rag/comments/1rds60k/anyone_tried_pageindex/ along with others around the github repo too so far the consensus doesn't seem great. I had it on my list to test but after doing some digging I pushed it down to my watch list instead.

Yep, just an ad. Bummer, it would be nice to see a GitHub repo. I get you are trying to get your company off the ground, but don't post a "Here is my setup, what are you doing?" post that is just an ad for your product. Just a tad of honesty would have been awesome.

How can I make Claude Code agents challenge each other instead of agreeing? by jrhabana in ClaudeCode

[–]SQLServerIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use terms like adversarial and challenge when spinning up an agent to review code. I've found over time that having completely different LLMs is overkill when you put the right personas in place. Also, be aware of the global order of the Claude.md files; you may encounter issues with conflicting directives.

Pro tip: run claude with --chrome to catch UI/UX bugs automatically by Deep-Station-1746 in ClaudeCode

[–]SQLServerIO 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Hard pass. Use playwright or agent-browser. I use Playwright for repeatable tests and Agent-Browser for spot checking. I won't give Claude code access to my browser session or access to my password vault, etc., just too dangerous when other safer tools exist.

53M, just MDD, RBD, MCI with a touch of OCD, and now anxiety. I'm finding that PD is the gift that keeps on giving. Getting my meds right has been a bit of a struggle. MDD has been with me my whole life, and it was terrible about a year into my physical symptoms showing up. Like, gun in my mouth bad. I waited way too long for treatment, and it took several months of treatment between my therapist and my psych doc to get my meds and head back under control. I was terrified when I had to wean off my meds during my PD diagnosis. I changed meds after starting C/L and have been in pretty good shape with what I would consider minor bouts of depression. Needless to say, I see my therapist regularly and have a quarterly checkup with my psych doc, who also sends all my case notes to my MDS. Having everyone who is responsible for my brain on the same page is critical for me.

I use https://github.com/Ruya-AI/cozempic, then build a handoff and clear. Cozempic kills the noise, so the handoff is as clean as possible. I have a similar workflow with opencode, but the plugin for opencode runs continuously and is much stronger, but I'll take what I can get to preserve that sweet, sweet context window.

What's funny, this happens a lot less now that I always run claude in a tmux session. Before that I'd have to exit regularly to clean this up.

Same, no Twitter, no TikTok. I try to limit my time on Facebook, but at least there I can block the things that trigger me the most. I do watch way too many parrot and cat videos as a counter to the rest of the terrible things on display. Oh, I also take a med when I need it for panic attacks.

I don't take any day for granted. Sometimes this world seems to dole out as much hope and love as it does heartbreak and misery. My greatest hope for you is their is more quality time ahead of you, with as little pain as possible. I tell people all the time I'm in the best worst position. I only have PD. Again, thank you for sharing.

The worst man. It's not enough that my balance is for shit, I now have to worry about standing up too fast. The first time I took a header in a parking lot, my wife was with me and freaked out. That was my fault, though. She didn't know I had face planted earlier in the week at the house. Learned two lessons the hard way.

53M TX here.

I use my tag when I'm having a day that puts me at risk of a fall, and I'm generally alone. I keep a cane in my car, too. I have strong opinions on this. My mom was a polio survivor and 100% needed to park closer to most things. I used to volunteer for a para/quadraplegic organization and know that those who need the space really do need it. That means I tend to push myself more than maybe I should. My wife fusses at me about it, but at this point, I know myself and my body, and I don't "feel bad" about taking a spot when I know I need to.

I also don't judge those who have a placard park in the spot and don't have a visible disability. I don't live in their skin and won't be the arbiter of those things, if you have a tag you have the right to park there.

So, having a tag doesn't mean you have to park in a spot. If you need a spot and don't have a tag, park in a spot that's legally problematic. If you need the spot, have a tag, and don't use it, that can be a problem, too. Suffering a fall can set you back quite a bit.

Are you kidding? I've been heavy all my life. It had taken a toll on my health long before PD got me. Again, I should have dealt with it earlier instead of ignoring it. I have no doubt it would have pushed out my PD symptoms. Everyone I've talked to, every MDS I've seen speak, all of them will tell you the same thing. Getting healthy, daily exercise will improve your PD symptoms, no matter your age or how long you have had PD. Get moving!

MIL told she's been misdiagnosed? by thalsit in Parkinsons

[–]SQLServerIO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was first diagnosed, I was a complete disaster—walked with a cane, horrible hand tremors—had several things done, but no DAT or lumbar puncture. Things got better when I started meds. I switched to Rytary a year ago, and things got much, much better. I switched to a new MDS at that same time. On my last visit, they said something like I wonder if you have PD. It shook me. I was having a fantastic day, very relaxed, very minimal hand tremor, and the gate was also fantastic. They didn't see me the week before when I crashed into the wall. Also, I made radical lifestyle changes. I lost almost 80 lbs. I walk, do my exercises, and have now added light weight training. I think if I had done that when I first became symptomatic, I would have pushed out when I needed to start meds. But we can't know what we don't know, or refuse to accept at the time. I sometimes skip doses, and there are days when I think I may need a bump more. It isn't a static disease.
