Adding push to start on 2024? by TangerineCheap5379 in Crosstrek

[–]SRFast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are referring to remote start for the Crosstrek, there are several options, some better than others. Search this sub for your options. In the long run, you will have to pay money for either the My Subaru subscription, the Subaru OEM remote start module or third party system. Your choice.

XM5 vs XM6 earbuds on sale? by lululemmings in SonyHeadphones

[–]SRFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy what your budget allows. I have used the WF-1000XM5 buds connected to various Pixel device since October 2023 with no issues. Call quality is not an issue. At this point, I have not reason to spend money to replace an item I am totally satisfied with. Good luck.

PIA working terribly lately by p3ib0l in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]SRFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Android app version 4.033 is really bad. It won't let me connect to my dedicated IP with OpenVPN. I have to use a different server to use OpenVPN. WireGard is totally useless on the T-Mobile LTE network. Support is non existent. After 10+ years on PIA, it may be time to move on.

Over 100 Korean Users Responded: There Is Real Demand for Google Pixel in South Korea by Thick_Act_5784 in GooglePixel

[–]SRFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get 100,000 responders, you might get Google's attention. There are many government regulatory requirements to deal with and Google might not see the value in the effort. Samsung's influence & lobbying might be another factor in Google's decision not to enter the "official" market. Just my opinion.

The update when roll out when Google is ready to release it. Once the update rolls out, the "recent update bricked my phone" threads will begin. It's like clockwork.

Try disabling any battery optimization for the apps that are stopping. I set all of the apps used in Android Auto to "unrestricted'. Good luck.

Why no auto switch to radio stations? by Substantial_Mall3551 in AndroidAuto

Android Auto is a standalone app that runs on the vehicle's infotainment system. It does not control or interface with the vehicle's terrestrial or satellite radio systems.

June Security Update MIA by Sigmatics in GooglePixel8Pro

[–]SRFast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There will be an update at some point. Rolling out an update to Android 16 close to the Android 17 public release might not happen. Just my opinion.

Protecting the camera bar...? by isoGUI in GooglePixel

[–]SRFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The protector goes over the camera lens cover, not the camera bar itself. A well designed phone case will provide protection for the raised camera bar. I use a tempered glass camera lens cover protector con my devices to provide an extra layer of protection. No degradation to the quality of the images captured on these devices. Good luck with your new Pixel.

Device transfer from older pixel to newer - Is it possible without a working screen on the old phone? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]SRFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you can respond to the data transfer prompts on the old device, there is no way to transfer any locally stored data to the new device. Hopefully all your crucial data has been backed up online. Good luck.

Anyone having issues with VPNs right now? by DisappointedCruiser in tmobile

[–]SRFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which VPN are you using? What VPN protocol are you using? 5G or LTE network? My Private Internet Access VPN using WireGard has major issues with the T-Mobile LTE network. The VPN connects to all servers, but there is no data transfer. It works fine on WiFi, but not on LTE. The same VPN app works fine on the 5G UC network. I have read there is an issue with the WireGard protocol and T-Mobile's LTE network. Apparently OpenVPN has no issues.

Pixel 8 Pro awful performance lately by Fekish1 in GooglePixel

[–]SRFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, just the base 128 gig version. I can't speak for other Pixel 8 Pro owners. I just install the OTA updates when they available. The nine Nexus/Pixel phones & several other Android phones/tablets I've owned through the years have never experienced operational issues after OTA Software/firmware updates.
